Description
:The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for basic maintenance related to HVAC and mechanical systems, electrical and plumbing, and safety inspections. Performs preventative, corrective, and routine maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment under general supervision. Responds to work requests timely and professionally and completes work assignments. This position is responsible for the installation and replacement of various maintenance related equipment and structures. The Maintenance Mechanic II may be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary and approved by the Supervisor.Education:
Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred: Trade School in the mechanical fields
Experience:
Required: 1-2 years of experience related to maintenance/mechanical.
Skills:
Basic Communication skills.
Ability to prioritizing workload.
Basic knowledge of the safe operation of all tools used in the performance of duties.
Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements governing fire alarm systems, HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, safety systems and building repairs.
Demonstrates basic technical skills for the repair and general maintenance of facilities in the following areas:
• Interior Finishes
• Millwork adjustments and hardware
• Doors, frames, and door hardware
• Plumbing and fixtures
• Electrical wiring, devices, lighting and motors
• Heating, ventilation and air conditioning
• Refrigeration units and ice machines
• Air compressors and refrigerated air dryers
• Air handlers, fans, and heat wheels
• Chilled water and condenser pumps
• Hanging mirrors, pictures, documents and decorative items
• Furniture repair and refinish
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Required: Active Driver's License
Required: STI Fire Stop Certified within 1 year of hire (provided by Cox yearly if not already certified)
Preferred: Some form of MEP Certification from an accredited trade school. Such as Vatterott College and Ozarks Technical Community College
Preferred: Preferred: Refrigeration Certification, Welding of any kind

:A Construction Tech II is responsible for completing construction projects relating to preparation and application of Interior Finishes, Millwork, Cabinetry, Doors & Frames and Hardware. Will work with a team to accomplish the overall goal of the CoxHealth construction refresh projects. Responds to work requests timely and professionally and is able to complete work assignments. The Construction Tech II contribute skills and ideals that are valuable in construction finishing work and trains others if the need arises. :The Environmental Services Technician maintains environmental and infection control standards within established policies and procedures. Essential duties include cleaning and maintaining areas in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition within the hospital and adjacent buildings, which may require traveling from one facility to another.
