    The Division of Urology at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine is seeking a board certified/board eligible Urologist for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery level, depending on experience and academic record.

    Responsibilities: This position will work primarily at our satellite clinic located on the Decatur Memorial Hospital campus in Decatur, IL. This position will have privileges at Decatur Memorial Hospital and HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL. Applicants must have completed a residency in urology. Illinois licensure is a requirement of employment. Duties include maintaining a medical practice, teaching students and residents, and engaging in clinical and/or basic science research.

    Decatur has a population of approximately 70,000 residents, and is the largest city in Macon County, pop. 106,000. There are many options for recreation and entertainment, including festivals, art galleries, museums, parks, sports complexes and golf courses. Major metropolitan areas of St. Louis, Chicago and Indianapolis are within easy driving distance. Educational choices abound – families can select from public, private and religious schools based on individual needs, including 2 Montessori schools for pre-school through middle school aged children. There are also 3 dedicated community homeschooling organizations offering resources. Decatur has excellent amenities for residents of all ages, and is affordable, with a cost of living index of 82.8, below the US average of 100.

    Responsibilities: Reporting to the Chair of Urology, Bradley Schwartz, DO, this is an exciting opportunity to expand and enhance an academic Urology program in Illinois. This position will have privileges at Springfield Memorial Hospital and HSHS St. John’s Hospital. Applicants must have completed a residency in Urology and fellowship in Pediatric Urology. Illinois licensure is a requirement of employment. Duties include maintaining a medical practice, teaching students and residents, and engaging in clinical and/or basic science research.

    The budgeted annual salary range for this position is $250,000 to $275,000, representing the academic base salary only, which is funded through the University. The final academic base salary will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget considerations. Additional clinical compensation will be provided separately through a member practice agreement. This is a security-sensitive position. Pre-employment background screenings required.
