    Job description:

    We are seeking adaptable Heavy GPS Equipment Operators to join our growing team. These positions involve the operation of heavy equipment including but not limited to excavators, dozers, haul trucks, backhoes, and wheel loaders. The Equipment Operators will primarily work on project site in the Bellefonte, PA. A successful candidate should possess a positive attitude and at least one year of prior experience operating heavy equipment.

    Essential Functions

    Operates heavy equipment with earth moving capabilities (70,000lbs minimum) in a safe and effective manner.Operate bulldozer and/or excavator with or without GPS technologyProperly follows company and OSHA safety procedures.Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on equipment and reports defects or needed repairs to the foreman and/or superintendent.Ensures compliance with company control standards and procedures.Perform manual labor such as digging, shoveling, assisting with placement of pipe and material or other manual labor duties as assigned.Proactively communicates with foreman, superintendent and coworkers.Promotes teamwork that increases productivity and efficiency.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

    Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.Extreme weather conditions at the job sites.Noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, sitting and climbing for extended periods of time.Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Ability to work and walk on uneven terrain.

    Position Type and Hours
    This is a full time position, 40 hours per week. Days and hours of work vary according to job. Occasional weekend and overtime work may be required as job duties demand.

    Required Education and Experience

    Experience operating CAT 374 or larger (150,000+ lbs )Experience operating CAT 330 or Larger (80,000+ lbs)High School diploma or GED.Three years’ experience in operating heavy equipment.Ability to work from construction specifications and blueprints.Basic computer skills.Valid driver’s license.

    Job Summary
    The Field Mechanic is responsible for working on an active construction job site to diagnose and repair heavy equipment. This position requires a person who can work independently, is self-motivated under limited supervision, and manages limited downtime of the equipment.

    Essential Functions

    A strong mechanical aptitude, the willingness to learn, a good work ethic, and a positive attitude.Diagnoses and repairs large heavy equipment on the job site and company vehicles.Performs preventative maintenance and large variety of repairs of heavy equipment.Reads and interprets vehicle condition reports and repair orders.Completes paperwork associated with repairs and inspections.Follows all safety policies and procedures.Performs related work as assigned.
