    A Snapshot of Your Day

    As a CNC Vertical Boring Machine (VBM) Operator, you will be responsible for the precise manufacturing of components using CNC VBM machinery, ensuring adherence to safe and efficient production processes. You will operate and monitor the VBM equipment, ensuring that all products are produced to the highest quality standards and within specified timelines. Your role will involve a commitment to continuous improvement initiatives, including Six Sigma, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing principles.

    Working with minimal supervision, you will manage your own workflow, including setting up machines, selecting appropriate tools, and making necessary adjustments to maintain optimal performance.

    How You'll Make an Impact

    Set up and operate all large VBMs and perform various machining operations on a variety of parts and components Sets up and operates one or more of the following: CNC VBM with various control software Operate machine using various tables and fixtures Interpret technical drawings and GD&T; verify dimensions using precision instruments (micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators). process inspections and record measurements to maintain tolerance and surface finish requirements. guarding and PPE requirements (29 CFR 1910.212) to prevent exposure to hazards. Safely handle large components using overhead cranes and forklifts per company certification standards. Complete production and quality documentation accurately.

    What You Bring

    A minimum of 3 years of experience operating boring CNC machines with Siemens and/or FANUC controls is required. HS Diploma or GED required Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain Fork Truck and Critical Lift (B+) level crane licenses. Ability to remain in a stationary position at the machine console and move/position to set up tooling and inspect parts throughout the shift, reasonable accommodations available. Ability to manually lift up to 50 lbs for short durations, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to work with either written, oral, or graphic instructions. Proven ability to use precision gages and set tooling to high accuracies, preferably on large diameters. Ability to obtain an ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate (Silver Level or higher) as part of the pre-hire assessment.     The primary purpose of this position is to prepare parts, operate equipment and processes for the application of Thermal Spray on component parts. The process can be manual and include automation, combined with multiple varying parameters to produce specific thermal coating structures.

    How You'll Make an Impact

    Operate controls to activate robots and apply gases/powders for coating structures that meet specifications, while also preparing and post-processing components for Thermal Spray.

    Utilize surface preparation equipment and perform manual tasks such as masking, part conditioning, and blending as needed.

    Maintain equipment functionality by adding media/powder, checking barrels, changing nozzles/hoses, and ensuring proper fluid levels and alignment.

    Interpret technical documents (drawings, blueprints, specifications) to determine necessary tools for operations and ensure compliance with Siemens standards.

    Load/unload parts using authorized material handling devices and assist with crane operations, while maintaining detailed records and adhering to quality checks.

    Maintain a clean work area through preventative maintenance, proper storage of tools, and assist co-workers as needed, adapting to shifting priorities and team dynamics.

    What you Bring

    Operation and knowledge of the following is required

    Preparation of components including masking, surface protection of surfaces from overspray, operation of Surface Preparation machines and post processing of residual overspray and surface finish.

    Operation and control Robotics, including toolpath of robots and flow control of gas fuels. Adjustments to programs and gas flows to control desired Thermal Spray results.

    2-4 years of CNC experience operating robotics and auxiliary equipment.

    HS Diploma or GED Requited

    The primary purpose of this position is to set up, operate, program manual and CNC horizontal milling machines, manual lathes, and CNC lathes performing detailed operations on a variety of parts and components. Use a range of tools, including milling cutters, boring bars and heads, saws, micrometers, gauges, indicators, and more. Your role will require a proven understanding of shop mathematics and the capacity to interpret complicated drawings, specifications, charts, and tables. You should also have experience with precision measuring instruments and/or specialized occupation training.

    Applicants will have 5-7 years of practical trades training, which includes familiarity with blueprints, CNC machinery, programming, G & M code, and manual machining. Effective written and verbal communication abilities are essential, and the ability to maintain Siemens Energy equipment certifications is required.

    How You'll Make an Impact

    Will work from manufacturing information, drawings, written and/or verbal instructions and perform such operations as:

    Using material handling devices, loads/unloads parts from machines and/or assists crane operator. Setting up machines by installing tooling, adjusting to proper machine settings, feeds, speeds, etc., per job documentation and drawing specifications; assure proper tooling pre-sets. Will perform in-process integrity checks, as required, in order to maintain specific drawing tolerances. Conducting in-process testing and charting operational information and/or recording data as required, removing chips from work pieces and clean for inspections, as required to maintain a clean work area. Completing log sheets, downtime records, and other information, as required by the data collection system. Adapting to various situations and adjusting to the shift priorities.

    What You Bring

    Must have high school diploma or equivalent. An associate degree or trade school certificate is preferred. A basic knowledge in the use of shop mathematics, together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, various types of precision measuring instruments and/or the training generally applicable in a particular or specialized occupation. Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and how it applies to the engineering provided drawing. 5 Years or more in applied trades training, such as use of blueprints, CNC equipment, etc. Must qualify for and maintain appropriate equipment certifications of Siemens Energy (i.e., Fork truck, crane, etc.). Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.

    Adhere to all safety rules. Demonstrate proficiency in ability to operate either CNC Lathes, Vertical Mills, and/or Horizontal Mills. Read CNC programs and be familiar with G & M codes. Perform minor edits to CNC programs to improve efficiency and eliminate opportunities for error. Build (pre-set tooling) as needed for specific machining processes. Interpret engineering blueprints and written instructions. Apply concepts of geometrical tolerancing. Perform machining processes utilizing both empirical standard and metric system. Set up and use various measuring and inspection gages/instruments including ID and OD micrometers, bore gages, thread gages, etc. Control machining tolerances of 005" - 05".

    Overview:

    The primary purpose of this position is to set up, operate, program manual and CNC horizontal milling machines, manual lathes, and CNC lathes performing detailed operations on a variety of parts and components. Use a range of tools, including milling cutters, boring bars and heads, saws, micrometers, gauges, indicators, and more. Your role will require a proven understanding of shop mathematics and the capacity to interpret complicated drawings, specifications, charts, and tables. You should also have experience with precision measuring instruments and/or specialized occupation training.

    Applicants will have 5-7 years of practical trades training, which includes familiarity with blueprints, CNC machinery, programming, G & M code, and manual machining. Effective written and verbal communication abilities are essential, and the ability to maintain Siemens Energy equipment certifications is required.

    How You'll Make an Impact

    Will work from manufacturing information, drawings, written and/or verbal instructions and perform such operations as:

    Using material handling devices, loads/unloads parts from machines and/or assists crane operator. Setting up machines by installing tooling, adjusting to proper machine settings, feeds, speeds, etc., per job documentation and drawing specifications; assure proper tooling pre-sets. Will perform in-process integrity checks, as required, in order to maintain specific drawing tolerances. Conducting in-process testing and charting operational information and/or recording data as required, removing chips from work pieces and clean for inspections, as required to maintain a clean work area. Completing log sheets, downtime records, and other information, as required by the data collection system. Adapting to various situations and adjusting to the shift priorities.

    What You Bring

    Must have high school diploma or equivalent. An associate degree or trade school certificate is preferred. A basic knowledge in the use of shop mathematics, together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, various types of precision measuring instruments and/or the training generally applicable in a particular or specialized occupation. Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and how it applies to the engineering provided drawing. 5 Years or more in applied trades training, such as use of blueprints, CNC equipment, etc. Must qualify for and maintain appropriate equipment certifications of Siemens Energy (i.e., Fork truck, crane, etc.). Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.
