We are seeking to fill new Field Service Technician positions to assist in the coordination and implementation of all phases of the service and maintenance activities of our SIEMENS VENTURE coaches. You will also be responsible for assisting in various maintenance activities with our customers, training their maintenance personnel, and advising on the best maintenance techniques. Setting a safe work environment and proactively supporting our customers is critical to the function. You will interact with the operational, engineering, and dispatching departments for the railroad's safe, cost-effective, and efficient operations. Weekly shift hours can change based on customer schedule and maintenance needs. There will be 2nd shift positions (1:30pm-10:00pm) and a 3rd shift position 9:30pm - 6:00am Sunday - Thursday and Tuesday - Saturday. What your day-to-day will look like: * Provide a positive customer service experience by establishing a rapport with Customer management and maintenance facility personnel. * Ensure the provision of high-quality technical advice to the customer's maintenance workforce to improve the equipment reliability of the Charger fleet. * Ensure responsiveness and support to finishing the troubleshooting and repairs assigned to service requests. * Ensure the delivery of ongoing system operation training for the customers. * Identify Non-conformance issues and improvement recommendations. * Assists the local customer staff in assigned troubleshooting and repair works. * Ensure accurate communication between the customer, our Rail Support Center, and the field team when required. * Give feedback to the team regarding performance, quality, and efficiency issues. * Work with 3rd party vendors, such as Cummins, to ensure accurate operation of vendor components installed on the locomotive. * Continually progress customers' maintenance practices to support the Charger locomotive as intended by the manual. To thrive in this role, you have: * Associate's degree in electrical technology or other technical discipline or a minimum of 2+ years of electrical/mechanical experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment. * Experience troubleshooting Electrical (both AC and DC circuits), Mechanical, and Pneumatic systems. * Experience interpreting electrical schematics and drawings. * Excellently demonstrated English language technical communication skills. * Demonstratable strong customer service skills. * Proficiency with all Microsoft Office (including Excel/Word/Access/PowerPoint) products. * Ability to travel for training - approximately 10%. * Setting you apart from others would be experience in rolling stock (railroad) maintenance and commissioning or other rail-related experience as well as knowledge of Railroad Regulatory, FRA requirements, and guidelines. As a Systems Specialist, you will: * Commission new distributed digital control systems on construction sites within planned timelines * Document commissioning details; communicates deficiencies and progress * Act as the Lead Technician and plan work with Team Leader * Network technologies: Perform data back-up from data servers and create automated back-up procedures. Troubleshoot and resolve inconsistencies in the functions or sequence of operations Configures PC workstations and user interfaces. Confirm proper network performance * Operational testing, verification, and acceptance: Run routine reports to review system operation Perform final inspection, testing and customer acceptance. Provide customer training on system operations. Complete and submit routine written reports.
