This position will be responsible for patient preparation, administrating all nursing duties as designated by the provider, and maintaining patient records. This role will attend and assist providers by assessing and documenting patient care, contacting other providers offices, laboratories, radiologists, and more on behalf of the provider. Responsibilities: Using the nursing process and SRMC resources, provide patient care and/or services as directed by the provider. Utilize knowledge of disease, illness, and injury when providing care. Assist in promoting a safe, effective care environment conducive to the optimal health and dignity of the patient. Interview patient and determine patient status. Communicate patient status and changes in patient status to the provider in a timely manner through concise, appropriate communication and documentation. Document, according to protocol in medical records, all services that are performed for patients. Assist with patient referrals to physicians, dentists, optometrists, and other services when indicated. Assist providers in exam rooms. Set up and clean clinics and procedures. Administer medications and treatments following established protocols. Monitor and record response to medications, treatments, and procedures accurately and legibly. Document all verbal orders in the patients electronic medical record. Perform CLIA-waived tests available within the Physicians Clinic as ordered by the provider. Document results of CLIA-waived tests in appropriate location within the electronic medical record. Using standardized teaching tools, counsel patients in groups or one-to-one basis on topics designated by the provider. Cross-trained for duties in areas such as EKG administration, lab, family planning, nurse educator and telephone triage, and in-house drug assistance program. Submit forms and documentation in a timely manner (immunization, improvement activities, responses to memos, travel reconciliation, supply requests, leave requests, etc.). Provide care appropriate for the neonate and the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients served based on demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Assess and interpret data on the neonate and the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients status to identify requirements relative to their age-specific needs, and provide care needed as stipulated in departmental policy. Respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients or regulatory agencies. All patient inquiries and concerns will be documented in the patients electronic medical record. Return patient phone calls in a timely manner. Document all patient phone calls in the electronic medical record. Call patients on all results that are abnormal or normal. Answer medical questions per provider instruction. Document calls and patient responses in the electronic medical record. Assist patients with requests for medication refills through the electronic medical record. Support medication aides by entering verbal orders from providers into the electronic medical record. Give medication aides directions on assignments as needed. Follow up on any patient status changes reported by medication aides and document all findings. Perform both manual and electronic vital signs. Enter vitals, family history, social history, past medical history, and medications into the appropriate electronic record system. Maintain records of vital statistics and other pertinent patient data. Clean clinic instruments and equipment and maintain stock of supplies. Retrieve patient data from EPIC, CPSI, and Practice Partner. Make follow-up calls and schedule procedures when necessary. Work with the scheduling team to report any delays or changes. Perform clerical duties as needed. Inventory and requisition supplies; exhibit basic math skills. Assist with training medication aides and new employees. Work with the team on other assigned projects. Other duties as assigned by management. Requirements Requirements: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing program.     Responsibilities:

    · Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration rates, height, weight, and pulse oximetry.

    · Check patient into treatment room and starts clinic chart with allergies, health history, vital signs, medication reconciliation and any other pertinent information as requested by the provider.

    · Administer medications as ordered by the provider and noted by the provider or R.N/L.P.N. through a verbal order

    · Apply compresses, ice bags, and dressings that are ordered by the provider

    · Performs CLIA waived tests available within the RHC as ordered by the provider and noted by provider or R.N/L.P.N. (verbal order to be entered by licensed personnel only)

    · Assist with scheduling referrals.

    · Observe and report changes in the patient’s status

    · Assist with setting up auxiliary equipment or procedures as necessary

    · Answers phone calls, takes phone messages, removes voicemail messages from workgroup mailboxes and delivers them to R.N. or L.P.N to be addressed.

    · Notify patients of normal test results as instructed by provider and document notification and patient response in the electronic medical record.

    · Communicate information to patients as requested by providers when clinical judgment and knowledge is not required.

    This individual will be responsible for the completion of medical prior authorizations for the facility, helping nursing staff with medical necessity, obtaining patient health information required for admissions, and obtaining proper authorizations as required by SRMC policy.


    Responsibilities:

    · Provide excellent customer service.

    · Ensure that prior authorization requests are completed in a timely fashion to meet contractual requirements.

    · Ensure all reviews are conducted using nationally recognized and evidence-based standards.

    · Analyze insurance, governmental, and accrediting agency standards to determine criteria concerning medical justifications and treatment or procedures.

    · Knowledgeable of criteria for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance coverage.

    · Efficiently navigate insurance provider portals.

    · Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and ancillary staff to ensure all information and documentation is obtained to support authorization, level of care, and/or medical appropriateness.

    · Act as a resource to other departments, leveraging expertise relative to the authorization and medical necessity process.

    · Respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients or regulatory agencies and address them, forwarding them to the appropriate person when necessary.

    · Retrieve patient data in Electronic Medical Record.

    · Perform and maintain accurate documentation.

    · Communicate effectively with medical providers, nursing staff, rehab team, and social workers to meet the needs of the patient.

    · Assist director with identifying and completing process improvements for the facility that involves authorization activity.

    · Perform non-clinical Case Manager duties in Acute Care when needed.

    · Assist director when appropriate in research to reduce denials and improve reimbursement.

    · Other duties as assigned by management.

    This position offers a competitive compensation package: · The pay range for this full-time position is $115,000 - $150,765 annually. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

    · Physician Assistant Certification (PA-C) issued by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required for hire and must be maintained throughout employment.

    · Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permits to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed during practice.

    · Eligible to provide services, reimbursable services, and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid.
