Shriners Children's Greenville is seeking a Coordinator, Therapies to join our Rehab department. The Coordinator works directly with insurance companies, therapy providers, and patients in order to have optimal patient care, including patient scheduling and intake, while meeting compliance standards to maximize claim processing and payment.
Responsibilities
Tracks patients to determine continued and appropriate insurance eligibility and benefit period
Reviews pre-authorization intake information to identify potential resource costs, and communicate findings to therapy care team;
Verify patient’s current insurance to ensure continuity of coverage
Identifies opportunities to enhance reimbursement
Maintains an accurate list of all therapy evaluations and assessments for the correct reference dates throughout patients care, to ensure the accurate and timely submission of the required re- assessments
Collaborates with RIC to confirm signed plans of care
Track therapy authorization times and keep staff aware of pending recertification requirements, facilitating any payor specific requests for information
Facilitates the process associated with intake activity such as order entry, establishment of correct encounter
Monitors the order queue to ensure timely and correct scheduling of orders per service line and therapist availability
Maintains all reports and transmission data in a systematic format and stores in a safe, locked area, keeping information confidential in accordance with HIPAA
Implements all required forms, procedures and processes relative to job responsibilities

The Infection Control / Employee Health Coordinator oversees these programs and ensure all meet hospital needs and comply with policies, state and federal law, and The Joint Commission standards. Duties include performing infection control surveillance, prevention, and enforcement activities for infant, toddler, preschool, school-age, adolescent and young adult (up to age 21) patients, staff education, patients and families education, and development of policies and procedures. The RN Care Manager role requires a comprehensive understanding of the clinical, financial, administrative, and psychosocial aspects of the healthcare continuum, along with strong utilization management experience.
