    Wills Eye Hospital, Ocular Oncology Service

    The Ocular Oncology Service at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is seeking to hire ophthalmic photographers, part-time, full-time, or per diem.


    Candidates should have a working knowledge of ophthalmic imaging techniques and a desire to master skills related to ocular oncology. The Oncology Service offers competitive compensation packages commensurate with experience and ability.

    Basic Requirements:

    Minimum of 2 years as a full-time or ophthalmic technician with fundus and OCT experienceThe ability to begin imagining certification process within a year of hireStrong knowledge of clinical ophthalmology as applicable to imaging
    Basic Skill Set Includes:Fundus photography and fluorescein angiographyWide field fundus imagingOCT, posterior & anteriorAnterior segment imaging (Slit lamp, gonio, external)

    Job DescriptionJob Description

    If you are looking for a challenging, rewarding career then there is no other place in ophthalmology like us. We are looking for a technician and hope you'll join us.
    Responsibilities include performing clinical and clerical duties required to handle the day-to-day functioning of our clinic, including patient histories, workups, and comprehensive diagnostic testing. Must be able to accurately perform clinical eye tonometry, visual field testing, A scan, and B scan ultrasonography, optical coherence tomography, and fundus photography.
    Other duties include preparing patients for treatment and assisting with laser operations and injections. The ideal candidate must also be able to briefly counsel patients by providing information about treatment, using drops/drugs, and answering questions about surgery.
    Minimum Qualifications:
    Ophthalmology experience of at least two years is preferred.

    COA/COT certification preferred.

    Effective written and oral communication skills are a must; prior experience scribing is highly preferred!
    The ability to work independently with minimal guidance as needed and work well under pressure.
    Open to change and willing to take on additional responsibilities as necessary.
