    Reports to Director of the Sector

    General Characteristics

    Primary responsibility is sales with an emphasis on "New Sales" ie.. New Clients, New Markets, New Business Lines within Sector.Business development: identify and pursue new client/project opportunities through networking, proposals and presentations.Networking: Attend industry conferences, workshops, and networking events to promote the firm and establish connections.See and be seenSales Strategy Development: Create and implement effective sales strategies to capture new business opportunities.

    Sales Goals Provided Annually to each IndividualTypical Minimum Starts at $2,000,000*Higher Utilization needed for lower sales20% Adapted Utilization Expected at this RoleNew sales, new markets and new programs are expected and measured. Responsible for overall practice sales goal.Sales Strategy Development: Create and implement effective sales strategies to capture new business opportunities.Cross-Selling and Upselling: Identify opportunities to offer additional services to existing clients to increase revenue.Networking in New Areas: Attend regional industry events, conferences, and workshops to build connections and promote the firm’s services.Targeted Client Acquisition: Focus on acquiring clients that offer long-term, high-value projects to enhance revenue stability.Responsible for knowing the market rates (ie: fees) that can be charged to maximize value and ROI.Responsible for fee management, reviewing and checking proposals, including LOIs across sectors.

    Typical Duties & Responsibilities
    Prepares Practice Growth Plan/Business Development Plan annually. Market Analysis, budget planning. Identifies future leaders within the practice.

    Responsibility for the Direction of Others
    (Supervisor Responsibilities)

    Coordinate and Collaborate with Sector Program Managers.May serve in a dual Client Manger Role requiring the direction of a design team

    Duties

    Responsible for providing direction and supervision to a two-person survey crew.

    Responsible for all necessary training of survey crew.

    Evaluates and reports on performance of crew member(s).

    Makes field notes and files daily survey reports.

    Performs survey computations.

    Plans and coordinates survey fieldwork on time to support project requirements.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Skills & Qualifications

    High School Diploma or equivalent.

    Minimum two years of field experience as a party chief working on land development, commercial and residential subdivisions.

    Able to demonstrate an established career in land surveying specific to land development and construction projects.

    Ability to do field reconnaissance of a site. Searching for property corners, set up and traverse control for a field survey, have a good knowledge of reading construction plans and setting and checking property monument position on a daily basis.

    The Party Chief will have knowledge of boundary surveys, topographic surveys, land survey plats, subdivision plats, construction staking, ALTA surveys, leveling, traversing, GPS, total stations and data collectors.

    Position requires working 40-hour weeks with overtime, as required.

    Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.

    Qualified applicants who are offered a position must be willing to submit to a pre-employment substance abuse test.

    Assist in the preparation of quantity take-offs, costs estimates, engineering drawings, maps and other related tasks as required to support projects.

    Construction observation of land development, municipal water, sewer and stormwater projects.

    Assist in the preparation of permits for land development and municipal projects.
