    The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and continually improving the organization’s Quality Management System while ensuring products, processes, and materials meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. This role works closely with Production, Engineering, Inspection, Supply Chain, and Management teams to drive compliance, resolve quality issues, support process improvement, and promote a culture of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

    • Validate the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions and follow up to ensure sustained improvement.

    • Manage containment activities and support the control, disposition, and documentation of non-conforming products and raw materials.

    • Use structured problem-solving methods such as 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, 8D, and similar tools to resolve quality concerns.

    Quality Data / Process Improvement

    • Collect, analyze, and summarize quality data to prepare and present KPI reports and performance updates.

    • Analyze quality data, identify trends, monitor KPIs, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

    • Support and lead process improvement initiatives that improve product quality, reliability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

    Inspection / Calibration / Supplier Quality

    • Conduct final inspection and certification of finished goods prior to dispatch.

    Role Boundaries

    • This position supports quality engineering, Quality Management System compliance, non-conformance management, corrective action, process improvement, inspection support, and quality data reporting.

    Person Specification

    In this role, you will be responsible for safe handling and monitoring manufacturing machines ensuring that everything is running smoothly and according to schedule following the standard operation procedures.

    Key Responsibilities

    Always adhere to company Health & Safety procedures including external compliance such as COSHH.Working to company Quality standards (to AS9100 requirements) and Production tolerances.Working as an effective team member and assisting your Team Leader and Senior Operators to meet team targets, Production targets and KPIs.Assisting with stock control and cyclic stock counts.Tape cores, operate Bag Sealer, prepare for manufacturing run, tread line, change rolls, add/remove poly, remove paper waste, bag and label rolls, operate handheld crane, drop fabric, sample film for testing, tape up side and side dam, add resin, package, box and label rolls, staple box, change base and top paper roll, change fabric roll, clean coating head, clean oven, off-wind rolls, verify pick sheets, pull rolls for shipping, complete daily/weekly inspections and operate the chiller unit.Maintaining the highest standard of housekeeping to keep a clean and safe working environment.Waste reduction and Production cost minimisation.Complete paperwork to comply with AS9100 Quality standards.To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested.
