We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee large-scale commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing project execution, financial performance, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, compliance, and client relationships while mentoring project teams and ensuring successful delivery across multiple active projects.
The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with strong operational, financial, and communication skills who can manage complex construction projects while driving accountability, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Budget Management
Assist in developing subcontractor and supplier bid packages.Review bids, negotiate contracts, and support procurement strategies.Develop and manage detailed project budgets and cost forecasts.Monitor committed costs and proactively prevent budget overruns.Review and approve subcontractor invoices, vendor payments, and progress billings.
Project Planning & Execution
Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure milestones are achieved.Coordinate procurement activities and manage long lead item schedules.Ensure materials and equipment arrive on-site according to project timelines.Secure permits and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Oversee construction activities to ensure schedule, quality, and safety objectives are met.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
Lead project teams including Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, and field personnel.Mentor junior staff and support professional development initiatives.Conduct performance evaluations and establish accountability standards.Facilitate communication between owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams.
Risk & Quality Management
Enforce OSHA and company safety standards across all job sites.Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies.Conduct regular site visits and quality inspections.Resolve construction issues, deficiencies, and project disputes proactively.
Stakeholder Communication
Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.Provide project reporting, cost updates, and schedule status to leadership and stakeholders.Manage project closeout activities including punch lists, turnover documentation, warranties, and final acceptance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.8+ years of commercial construction project management experience.Proven experience managing large-scale ground-up and/or renovation projects.Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and project controls.Experience supervising multiple project teams simultaneously.Knowledge of OSHA regulations, permitting, and building codes.Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar construction software.Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience managing projects exceeding $10M+ in value.Design-build and negotiated project experience.Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
