    POSITION SUMMARY

    Group Sales Manager

    The Group Sales Manager is responsible for proactively soliciting, developing, and managing group business within assigned market segments to drive room nights, revenue, and overall resort performance. This role focuses on building strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and closing group sales that align with Shanty Creek Resorts’ accommodations, amenities, and service offerings.

    Success in this position requires hands-on sales execution, strong attention to detail, and a consultative approach tailored to the unique needs of each group client.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Maintain regular, proactive contact with all assigned and existing accounts within designated market segments.

    Identify, research, and develop new group business through prospecting, correspondence, personal outreach, and telephone sales efforts.

    Qualify and re-qualify new and existing accounts to ensure alignment with resort offerings and revenue objectives.

    Meet or exceed weekly activity standards, including qualified sales calls, property tours, and/or outside sales calls, as established by the Director of Sales.

    Develop and maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of all resort operations, including:

    Food & Beverage

    Guest Services

    Conference Services

    Reservations
    to effectively promote the full Shanty Creek Resorts experience.

    Conduct professional, thorough site inspections that clearly communicate the features, benefits, and value of the resort to prospective clients.

    Achieve individual booking activity goals in alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.

    Complete required weekly and monthly sales reports accurately and on time.

    Monitor competitor pricing, services, and facilities; communicate relevant insights to the Director of Sales.

    Adhere to all Shanty Creek Resorts sales policies, procedures, and selling techniques, with a focus on maximizing occupancy, Average Daily Rate (ADR), and overall revenue.

    Accurately maintain client and booking data within the resort’s sales management system, including account setup, space blocking, reporting, and booking documentation.

    Travel as necessary for sales calls, trade shows, site visits, and industry events.

    Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to support promotional initiatives and strengthen the resort’s brand image and unique market position.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITY

    The Group Sales Manager is assigned specific market segments and is accountable for achieving established quarterly and annual goals, including:

    Room revenue

    Room nights

    Average Daily Rate (ADR)

    Goals are set by the Director of Sales in collaboration with the Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

    Required Skills & Abilities

    About the Role

    The Exterior Trades Technician supports the maintenance, repair, improvement, and overall condition of Shanty Creek Resorts’ outdoor structures, exterior facilities, and property features.

    This hands-on position performs a wide variety of skilled and general trade work, including masonry, painting, staining, carpentry, exterior repairs, construction projects, and seasonal property improvements.

    This position is separate from the resort’s Maintenance Technician roles, which primarily support mechanical systems such as HVAC, electrical equipment, and pool operations. It is also separate from the Grounds Technician role, which focuses primarily on landscaping, flowers, and grounds care.

    Working under the direction of resort leadership, the Exterior Trades Technician helps ensure exterior structures and outdoor areas are safe, attractive, functional, and ready for guests and employees throughout the year.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in completing quality work, and is comfortable performing a variety of physical construction, repair, and skilled-trade tasks.

    Minimum Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Previous experience in construction, exterior maintenance, facilities maintenance, masonry, carpentry, painting, or a related field.

    Basic experience using hand tools, power tools, and outdoor work equipment.

    Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

    Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments independently or as part of a team.

    Painting and Surface Finishing

    Prepare exterior surfaces through cleaning, scraping, sanding, pressure washing, patching, and priming.

    Paint, stain, seal, and weatherproof exterior walls, trim, decks, fences, railings, signs, and structures.

    Apply coatings and finishes according to manufacturer instructions and resort standards.

    Protect surrounding areas and maintain clean, organized painting workspaces.

    Inspect completed work and complete touch-ups as needed.

    Seasonal Property Projects

    Assist with spring and fall property preparation and seasonal transitions.

    Support snow and ice removal from exterior work areas, entrances, steps, and walkways as needed.

    Install and remove seasonal signs, barriers, furniture, decorations, structures, and outdoor equipment.

    Help prepare resort facilities for special events, golf operations, winter operations, and periods of increased guest activity.

    Respond to weather-related property damage and exterior repair needs.

    Tools and Equipment

    Safely operate hand tools, power tools, utility vehicles, pressure washers, saws, drills, grinders, sanders, and other trade equipment.

    Inspect tools and equipment before use and report damage or maintenance concerns.

    Reports To: Facilities Manager or Maintenance Supervisor
    Status: Full-Time or Seasonal, Hourly

    Position Summary

    The Swing Shift Maintenance Technician supports the safe and efficient operation of Shanty Creek Resorts during the critical afternoon and evening hours. This role performs routine and emergency maintenance, responds to service requests, and ensures that guest-facing facilities and equipment remain in excellent working condition. The technician will work independently at times and in coordination with the daytime and overnight maintenance teams to ensure smooth 24-hour operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Respond to maintenance requests across the resort, including guest rooms, public areas, food & beverage outlets, and operational facilities.

    Perform general repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, basic mechanical systems, and general building upkeep within scope of skillset.

    Address urgent evening issues, such as equipment failures, blocked drains, malfunctioning heating/cooling, lighting problems, and other guest-impacting concerns.

    Complete daily work orders in the CMMS system, ensuring timely documentation and clear communication across shifts.

    Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life.

    Conduct routine inspections of resort buildings, mechanical rooms, pools, hot tubs, and public spaces, reporting issues promptly.

    Assist departments with operational support needs (event setups/breakdowns, minor equipment adjustments, troubleshooting).

    Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shop areas and ensure all tools and materials are properly stored.

    Communicate clearly with day shift and overnight teams to ensure seamless handoff of open work orders or ongoing repairs.

    Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and resort standards for equipment handling and repair.

    Provides excellent internal customer service, interacting with associates and leaders professionally and respectfully.

    Qualifications

    1–3 years of experience in maintenance, facilities, building operations, or a related trade preferred

    Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems

    Ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently on the 2–10 PM shift

    Strong communication and customer service skills

    Experience with CMMS or work order systems preferred

    Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment

    Valid driver’s license required

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently

    Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders for extended periods

    Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in variable conditions

    Dexterity to handle tools, small parts, and equipment

    Ability to respond quickly to emergencies across the resort
