Description:Sewickley Academy is seeking to hire a Head Girls' Basketball Coach. The part-time is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to student-athletes and assistant coaches, as well as, providing an overall vision for the program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for basketball and a proven track record of coaching high school athletes.
Responsibilities:Develop and implement a comprehensive basketball program for the Girls' teamPlan and conduct individual and team practicesPlan, develop and implement competitive game strategiesCollaborate with the sports performance staff to enhance the physical capabilities of all student-athletesProvide guidance to the administration on strategic schedulingProvide leadership to all members of the basketball program, including players, coaches, and staffAssist with the long-term planning for the boy's basketball program by working with coaches at all levelsFoster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes sportsmanship and teamworkFoster an environment that focuses on the academic mission of the institutionEnsure compliance with all Academy, WPIAL, and PIAA policies and regulationsRequirements:Previous successful coaching experience at the high school varsity level or collegiate levelStrong knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and techniquesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their full potentialCommitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team cultureProven ability to foster academic growth for all student-athletesAvailability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekendsCurrent certification in CPR and First Aid or the willingness to acquire these certifications
