    Director Of Design And Construction We are seeking an experienced construction director to oversee, plan and manage multiple hospital construction projects nationwide. In this role, you'll review construction and mechanical plans for compliance with code and company standards, contract requirements and engineering/construction principles. Headquartered in Mechanicsburg, PA, Select Medical is one of the largest operators of critical illness recovery hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, and outpatient rehabilitation centers in the United States. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate and monitor construction projects with a focus on technical development, engineering, design and code compliance. Schedule and attend construction meetings. Identify and resolve any compliance, permit and code issues to keep construction projects within budget and on schedule. Conduct periodic facility reviews to ensure compliance with Life Safety Codes (National Fire Protection Association) and licensure requirements. Review and update facilities' assessment checklists and make changes as needed. Help implement policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Assist with staff training in regard to line safety. Collaborate with facility directors of free-standing hospitals to maintain and improve their infrastructure systems. Work with hospital safety line officers, leadership and clinicians to respond to and correct any deficiencies noted by local authorities having jurisdiction. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree Five years' experience coordinating construction projects in the health care industry. Extensive travel is required for this position. Preferred: Bachelor's degree preferred in construction management or related services. Previous experience working with federal/state/local agencies. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, American Institute of Architects (AIA) guidelines and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requirements for health care facilities.
