    The Ground Support Equipment Mechanic diagnoses malfunctions and repairs Ground Support Equipment (GSE), advises and trains lower grade workers on diagnosis and repair of less complex repair/maintenance problems, inspects and approves completed maintenance actions, solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications; uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions, and analyzes, diagnosis, and repairs GSE using conventional and digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools.

    This mechanic maintains external fuel and grounding systems, performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE, inspects, tests, and operates GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation, services equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air, diagnoses mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications. This work also does the following: disassembles and assembles malfunctioning GSE accessories and components, removes, disassembles repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion, assembles, and reinstalls GSE components and accessories, stencils and marks GSE in accordance with technical publications, stores, handles, labels, uses, and disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations. This mechanic prepares GSE for storage and mobility deployment; and operates, cleans, inspects, and services GSE towing vehicles. In addition to maintaining vehicle records, this mechanic maintains and updates paper and electronic equipment records, provides dispatch service for GSE, including positioning equipment to 77 support aircraft maintenance and flying operations, practices good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times.

    We are looking for a highly skilled Electrician specializing in GSE mobile electrical power plants (MEPP) AC/DC systems, electrical troubleshooting, and generator maintenance. The ideal candidate will be our go-to expert for diagnosing complex electrical issues, maintaining critical power generation equipment, and ensuring operational continuity.


    • Installs, maintains and repairs Ground support equipment mobile electrical power plant systems, generator electrical systems, relays, variable frequency drives, AC & DC circuits and other electrical components.

    Must be able to solder wires, read electrical schematics and drawings; work from maintenance manuals while performing maintenance repair and overhaul.

    • Troubleshoots generator electrical systems, relays, AC & DC circuits and other electrical components as required.

    • Performs preventative maintenance on support equipment.

    • Must be able to pass work / respirator physical and be medical cleared to wear a respirator for job duties unable to pass physical will result in termination.

    • Must able to provide tools / tool box required with job tool listing attached IAW with contract.

    • Must able to obtain a Secret Clearance.

    Required experience: At a minimum four (4) years of experience in inspection maintenance, repair and modification of powered ground support equipment.

    Required education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Read and analyze blueprints, sketches, technical drawings, CAD files, schematics, and manufacturing files to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequences. Set up, align, and secure workpieces, fixtures, and cutting tools while operating conventional and CNC lathes, mills, and grinders to machine raw materials into finished components. Utilize 3D printing technology to manufacture prototypes, replacement parts, and production components as required. Perform first-article and in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to verify compliance with specifications and tight tolerances. Monitor machine performance, adjust feeds and speeds, troubleshoot equipment issues, and perform routine machine maintenance to ensure quality, efficiency, and safe operation.

    Required Experience:
    At a minimum of two (2) years of experience interpreting blueprints, sketches, CAD files, technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturing files to produce precision metal parts and components. Experience operating conventional and CNC machining equipment, performing quality inspections using precision measuring instruments, and working with 3D printing technologies is required.

    Position Description:

Maintains state-of-the-art technical expertise in the mechanical engineering discipline. Responsible for keeping NASA Performance Monitors apprised of significant systems status and key events.
