    Schouest, Bamdas, Soshea & BenMaier is seeking a professional, organized, reliable paralegal to support our litigation team. The ideal candidate must have excellent research and writing skills, as well as the ability to exercise sound judgment, think creatively and work independently.

    Responsibilities include-but are not limited to:

    Obtain, review and analyze documents or any other relevant informationReview and summarize medical recordsPrepare for trial by preparing trial notebooks, exhibits and witness filesCompile evidence and supporting information by searching records, discovery documents, transcripts, libraries and databasesGenerate status reports, logs and indexesMaintain acceptable minimum monthly billable hours

    Qualifications:

    5+ years experience in litigationDegree from an accredited university and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved programAbove average proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteStrong analytical skillsTime management skills, ability to multi-task and the ability to work with all levels of employees.

    Schouest, Bamdas, Soshea & BenMaier is currently looking for a legal assistant to support a group of attorneys in New Orleans through the performance of complex secretarial, administrative and substantive legal duties.

    Job Description:

    Prepare documents by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, printing and transmitting text, data and graphics using office software applications.A knowledge and appreciation of the legal processes that facilitate the accurate preparation of client documents and responding to filing or closing deadlines.Prepare and coordinate e-filings in state and federal courts.Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes and scan documents.Ensure that documents are saved and filed into the appropriate document management system.Maintain the daily calendar of each attorney including, but not limited to, scheduling appointments, meetings and travel arrangements..Open files, close files and assist with conflicts checks.Provide support to the attorneys with timesheets and regular billing matters.Maintain a good working rapport with clients and co-workers.Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

    Education and Experience Required:

    A high school diploma or equivalency is required; an associate degree, business school certificate or related education is desirable.Five + years’ secretarial experience in a law firm environment preferred.
