    Automotive Car Wash/Detail

    Santa Barbara Auto Group represents 8 luxury franchises in Santa Barbara.

    We are seeking someone to assist in our car wash department to ensure our customer vehicles are cleaned in a professional and timely manner.

    We are looking for a person with the following qualifications:

    Bi-lingual in English and Spanish helpful but not required

    Ability to multi-task

    Ability to interact with multiple department managers

    Desire to work in a fast paced, demanding environment

    Experience in Washing, Maintaining and Detailing vehicles

    Wants the ability to grow our business and grow with our business

    Ability to work evenings and weekends

    Automotive experience a plus, but not necessary. Base Hourly Compensation of between $16 and $19

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of vehicles, ensuring they run smoothly and meet our high standards of safety, performance and committed to excellence.     Job Responsibilities

    - Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately

    - Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts, etc.) aiming for vehicle functionality and longevity

    - Recommend future maintenance requirements and advise clients on proper vehicle use

    - Repair or replace broken, damaged or missing parts and repair issues (e.g.leaks)

    - Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job

    - Document work performed and issues, including warranty concerns

    - Keep logs on work and issues, including warranty concerns

    - Maintain equipment and tools in good condition

    - Test drive vehicles after repairs are complete to ensure mechanical soundness and to determine whether any other problems exist

    - Diagnose issues based on drivers' descriptions and vehicle performance

    - Keep up-to-date with developments in automotive technology to ensure continuing innovation and efficiency

    - Comply with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards

    - Ensure health and safety practices are observed in all tasks and procedures

    - Communicate with clients about vehicle problems, diagnostic tests, and repairs

    - Collaborate with other repair team members to ensure the timely completion of services

    - Provide Video Multi-Point Inspections for all of our service vehicles



    Qualifications:

    Job Requirements

    - High school diploma or equivalent

    - Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred

    - Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic

    - ASE certification preferred (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence)

    - Proficiency in using various hand tools, precision measurement tools, and shop equipment

    - Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods

    - Ability to handle various tools (flux capacitor) and heavy equipment (e.g., lift)

    - Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.

    - Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles

    - Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods

    - Ability to read and understand complex technical manuals and schematics

    - Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy objects and work in cramped spaces

    - Valid and clean motor vehicle history report

    - Valid driver's license

    - Good communication skills and the ability to explain complex issues to non-technical individuals

    - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team

    - Strong problem-solving skills and detail-oriented

    - Basic computer and reporting skills

    - Commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge through continuous education and training
