Detention Equipment Construction – Steady Work, Overtime & Per Diem Available
We are a specialty detention contractor focused exclusively on correctional facility construction and renovation. We are currently seeking an Experienced Welder/Fabricator/Installer to join our Field Installation Team.
This position involves installing detention-grade steel equipment in both new construction projects and active correctional facilities. If you have welding and fabrication experience and enjoy hands-on field work, this is an opportunity to work in a specialized and growing industry with steady work.
Applicants must be able to pass a background check.
Note: We do not perform structural steel work.
Key Responsibilities
Demolition of Existing Equipment
Remove outdated detention equipment using cutting torches, grinders, and cut-off wheelsSafely remove and transport demolition debris from secure facilitiesInstallation of Detention-Grade Metal Products
Move, load, and stage heavy materials within secure work areasPerform Stick Welding (SMAW) on carbon steel and 304 stainless steel (14ga – 1/4")Grind and finish welds to meet installation standardsSecurity Equipment Installation & Repair
Install and repair detention-grade doors, hardware, glass, furniture, and security equipmentWork according to project specifications and field conditionsBlueprint Reading & Field Work
Read and follow blueprints and shop drawingsTake accurate field measurements and perform modifications when necessaryQualifications
Experience in welding, metal fabrication, or similar tradesProficiency in Stick Welding (SMAW) with carbon steel and stainless steelSkilled with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipmentAbility to read and interpret construction drawingsPhysically capable of manual labor, lifting heavy materials, and working on active job sitesMust be able to pass a background checkWhat We Offer
