    RQ Construction is a full-service Design-Build company, headquartered in Carlsbad, CA, with secondary support operations located in Jacksonville, FL. We offer management of projects throughout the United States, with our field operations' team members who work on location for each of our projects. We currently have a backlog of work of $1B in CA, WA, VA, NC, SC, FL and also Guantanamo Cuba and Puerto Rico. We specialize in fast-track projects in new commercial construction with a primary focus in the Department of Defense market.

    We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Start-Up Technician to join our team for large-scale government renovations and ground-up construction projects at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base, Georgia.

    This is a hands-on role focused on temperature control, HVAC equipment start-up, and supporting the commissioning process for complex mechanical systems. The ideal candidate is experienced in field work, understands the critical nature of government and military standards, and thrives in high-performance construction environments.

    PAY: $30.00-45.00/hour depending on experience

    Position Overview:

    As a General Laborer, you will perform a variety of physical tasks at construction sites, using hand and power tools of all kinds. You may also assist other craft workers with their tasks, including cleaning and preparing sites, clearing debris, and removing non-hazardous waste.     We are seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to join our Electrical Self-Perform team for construction projects based in Kings Bay, Georgia.

    This position is responsible for the planning, installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting and documentation/ reporting of the fire alarm system in a construction project. This role will be responsible for ensuring all systems meet design specifications, code compliance, and safety regulations, including NFPA standards and in accordance with RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values. This role can be travelling.

    PAY: $39.92-43.00 per hour depending on experience, eligible for overtime

    BENEFITS: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K with Match

    Compensation is based on specific project location AND WILL FOLLOW DAVIS BACON PREVAILING WAGE REQUIREMENTS, WHICH VARY FROM MILITARY BASE TO MILITARY BASE. Hours per week will range between 40-50 hours.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    A high school diploma or GED is the preferred minimum formal education for this position.NICET Level III or IV in Fire Alarm System, Manufacturer training and/ or relevant certification required.3+ years of experience in a Technician position (e.g., scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, safety, and production of all phases in construction), over electrical/communications trades on medium or large projects is required. Foreman experience in multiple trades (e.g. concrete, framing/drywall, earthwork, and MEP trades) is a plus.6+ years (or equivalent) of field or trade work experience in the construction industry/ FA system manufacturing highly desirable; government, military, or large commercial construction experience, preferred. Work in the design-build industry is preferred.Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet, etc.) preferred. Training available.Specific software literacy (Primavera 3/6, Viewpoint, BIM, Revit) preferred. Training available.CPR, First Aid Certification required. Training available.OSHA 30-hour Certification and EM-385 preferred. Training available.

    We are looking for Mechanical Assistant Project Manager (MAPM) candidates to join our Field Operations team located in King's Bay, GA. Our Mechanical APM's are responsible for providing support to the Mechanical Project Manager in managing all aspects and phases of a mechanical construction project from conceptual development to final completion, usually through organizing, planning, directing, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, and personnel management processes to safely produce quality work, within project requirements, targeted budget, schedule, and in alignment with RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values. Local candidates will be given priority, though relocation will be considered.

Work in the design-build industry is preferred. Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Primavera P6) preferred. Training can be provided. Specific software literacy (BIM) preferred. Training can be provided.
