Job Description
The Level 2 Production Lead is in charge of the production area's performance. The Level 2 Lead ensures that the work area, including crew members, is set up on time. The team leader is in charge of overseeing all aspects of workplace safety, ensuring that personnel follow regulations and procedures.
Duties and responsibilities
Supervise and monitors a team of production employeesMonitor the overall process of a production line/areaCommunicate and partner with the production supervisor on any issues and concernsIdentify the staff needs for the day, and alternate employees in different areas as necessaryPrioritize orders based on staff and business needsPartner with other departments (Production and Warehouse) to obtain the product needed for the dayEnsure all orders are completed in a timely mannerEnsure that all lines are setup properly with correct product, labeling and correct packaging informationGet the required materials, tools and product as neededReinforce safety and be a safety advocate for the production department. Report any safety issues to the production supervisorSchedule and assign daily work areas to production employeesInspect the product to ensure it meets food safety guidelines and customer expectations Maintain and clean and safe work environmentCommunicate any machinery issues to maintenance as neededResponsible for the proper and accurate completion of hourly documentationFollow and complete the daily production schedule, including changes that may occur during the course of the shiftMake certain that all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and food safety policies are followed at all timesMeets daily production standardsCommunicate quality issues of raw product to production supervisor and Quality Assurance departmentAssist in the training of new hires and ensure they are able to demonstrate competencies in all work areasResponsible for the validation of all carton barcode scanningReinforce safety and be a safety advocate for the production department. Report any safety issue to the production supervisor Perform other duties that are required and assignedQualifications
Previous working experience in leadership and food manufacturing (2) yearsHave strong leadership skills, and the ability to deal with all leadership levelsAbility to direct, train and coach employees in a positive mannerBe able to work under minimum supervisorBe able to work under pressureBe able to use a computer and an I-padBe able to read EnglishBilingual in Spanish a plusBe able to work a flexible scheduleBe able to work in both buildingsWorking conditions
Able to work in a noisy, wet and cold environment of approximately 34- 38 degrees FahrenheitPhysical requirements
Be able to lift up to 50+ lbs. Be able to bend, squat, stand, walk, reach, push and pull for 8-10 hours a dayBe able to perform repetitive motions during the duration of the shiftJob title
