    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionROOTS ABA, Autism Treatment Center in Cedar Knolls NJ is looking for a Full Time Paraprofessional / Behavior Specialist in our center-based program. We will provide high-level training and ongoing supervision to the right person. BCBA supervision possible for ABA Graduate students. Bachelor’s Degree required.

    The Paraprofessional / Behavior Specialist is a full-time, 35 hour per week, salaried position, working under the supervision of a BCBA and BCBA-D. ROOTS exists in order to help clients learn to manage potentially disruptive behavior and to teach them appropriate, functional and adaptive skills using techniques based in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. You will learn how to run Functional Analyses and related Treatment Analysis sessions. From there you will learn how to develop and implement Behavior Plans and how to train teachers and/or parents.

    ROOTS is an intensive program for learners who need help managing sometimes very serious behavior. We provide considerable training and ongoing oversight and supervision.

    It is crucial that learners (and colleagues) are treated with kindness and respect at all times. Willingness and enthusiasm to receive training are a must!

    Qualities and Requirements (in brief):

    · Enthusiasm for a challenging and rewarding job

    · Focus on making meaningful changes in the lives of learners

    · Able to work as part of a dynamic team, to give and receive feedback

    · Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field preferred

    · RBT certification not necessary but helpful

    · Physically able to perform the duties required

    · Able to pass crisis management training (ProSafe©)

    · Follows professional communication model

    · Maintains professional client confidentiality

    Benefits:

    · Competitive salary - Currently $48k to $52k annually with annual increases. PTO – sick time, holidays. School year calendar with approximately 6 weeks vacation.

    · ROOTS provides HEALTH and DENTAL insurance with partial employee contribution. ROOTS also expects to begin providing Life Insurance and a retirement plan.

    Duties, in brief:

    · Conduct ABA Assessment sessions (with guidance)

    · Conduct ABA Treatment sessions (with guidance)

    · Implement relevant portions of IEPs

    · Collect data

    · Analyze data

    · Conduct literature research as needed

    · Write assessment and/or treatment protocols (with guidance)

    · Write assessment and/or treatment reports as needed or assigned (with guidance)
