    SUMMARY:
    As an Environmental Services Floor Tech, your strong attention to detail and superior customer service skills are key in maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment throughout the hospital


    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Daily Cleaning. Perform daily cleaning tasks in assigned areas including, but not limited to: washing ceilings and walls; mopping hallways, stairwells and public areas; washing, waxing and/or vacuuming floors

    Equipment Management. Operate manual, battery-powered and electric equipment; use cleaning equipment such as mechanical floor cleaners, polishers and scrubbers; clean and maintain equipment; monitor assigned areas and equipment for needed repairs and inform supervisor

    Waste Removal. Gather and dispose of garbage, waste, soiled linen; remove trash in the prescribed manner

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Environmental Services experience preferred.

    Previous floor care experience preferred

    NYS DL - valid New York State Driver's License - New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (NYSDMV)

    Nurses in the float pool are not assigned to a specific unit. They are trained on multiple units and become familiar with all medical surgical units within Unity. Nurses in the float pool will become well-versed in all different types of nursing and will expand their knowledge and nursing skills.

Unit 5200 is an acute intermediate care telemetry floor that provides specialized care to patients recovering from advanced cardiac interventions and procedures. This unit is an excellent environment for nurses to build a strong foundation in cardiac nursing and grow their clinical expertise.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Patient Care & Service. Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; performing various treatment procedures; providing physical, educational and emotional support to patients, friends and families; supervising assigned team members
