As a customer-focused technical product expert, the Technicians will apply highly developed troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical skills, and sound knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic control systems to install and maintaining processing & packaging machinery. Job Duties include but are not limited to:
Travel 80% (Mon-Fri) away from home visiting food plants primarily in the Southwest Region of the country but may travel beyond the territory as required. Job Summary

Additional responsibilities include manipulating customer recipes, formulating and reformulating dough, identifying potential new customers and support the sales team as a Bakery Expert at key customer meetings.

Essential Functions
· Travel 60-80% (overnight) each week to small, medium and large scale bakery plants and headquarters of baking companies in the Central United States.
· Work with existing and future customers on product development/R+D of bakery applications and products.
· Coordinate with Bakery Technicians to successfully install machinery and gain feedback to assist in further machine development opportunities.
· Travel with sales staff, and support sales staff at client meetings. Identify sales opportunities and help close sales, working with Reiser specialists and regional sales people.
· Support the sales efforts at designated National Accounts as identified by the Director of National Bakery Accounts.
Key Qualifications
· Recent prior experience working as a baker or research and development of bakery products, preferably in large scale commercial/industrial settings
· Prior experience as a scratch baker. Must know how to formulate and reformulate dough.
· Understanding of bakery manufacturing and a passion for the industry.
· Ability to learn and understand the machinery used in the bakery is necessary.
· Excellent networking skills and the ability to be comfortable in plants and headquarters as needed to develop key relationships.
· Be a sales-oriented self-starter, who understands the entire sales process and can actively participate in identifying the needs of our customers and the solutions to meet those needs.
· Converse comfortably and effectively with people working on the shop floor to presidents of companies.
· Clear communication skills with sales team and home office, both written and verbal.
· Based in a major US City in the Central USA (Kansas City, St Louis, Indianapolis or equivalent).
Requirements:
· This position may be worked remotely but requires proximity to a major airport.
· Bakery knowledge and an understanding of high production bakeries.
· Ability to travel 60-80-%overnight during the week (Monday to Friday) throughout the Central United States.
· Outgoing personality and a willingness to support Reiser Sales Team
· Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and multi-task.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all organizational levels is critical.
· Previous sales experience would be an asset.
· Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
· Basic computer skills a must.
· Bachelors Degree or Post Secondary School education relating to Bakery Science or Pastry Arts or American Institute of Baking Certification or equivalent highly desirable.

Service Operations Support:
• Assist the Regional Service Manager in the daily oversight and coordination of all field service activities within the region.
• Oversee the efficient dispatch and resolution of break/fix service requests, ensuring timely response and effective troubleshooting by technicians.
• Monitor service call queues, technician availability, and customer priorities to optimize resource allocation for break/fix issues.
• Work collaboratively with the Installation Manager to ensure seamless transitions from new equipment installation to ongoing service and support.
• Support technicians on complex troubleshooting and repair issues for various equipment, including those involving pneumatics, hydraulics, and motor control circuitry.
• Ensure all completed customer visit job tickets for break/fix and planned maintenance calls are submitted daily and accurately.
• Assist in sending parts to technicians and customers related to needs.
Planned Maintenance Coordination:
• Coordinate and schedule planned maintenance (PM) activities with customers and technicians to ensure proactive equipment care and reduce downtime.
• Track PM schedules and completion rates, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and customer adherence to recommended maintenance.
• Proactively communicate with customers regarding upcoming planned maintenance, addressing any questions or concerns.
Team Support & Development:
• Provide day-to-day guidance and support to field service technicians under the direction of the Sr. Regional Service Manager.
• Assist in identifying training needs for technicians related to break/fix and planned maintenance procedures.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and customer-centricity within the service team.
• Act as a liaison between technicians, customers, and other internal departments to resolve issues and enhance customer relationships.
Administrative & Reporting:
• Assist in generating service reports, monitor break/fix response times, ensure planned maintenance completion, and above all, a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Ensure adherence to all office Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for customers and service operations.
• Support the Sr. Regional Service Manager in various administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements:What You Bring
• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering technology or a relatable degree is preferred by not required.
• Specific demonstrable experience and knowledge with pneumatics, hydraulics, and motor control circuitry
• Technical skills and experience are required to competently install, troubleshoot, repair, and service the type of equipment that Reiser sells.
• Prior experience working as a field service engineer in a position that required travel.
• Previous Customer Service experience with a customer focused and servant leadership mindset
• Experience in supervising/managing several service engineers/technicians in the field or in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Excellent trouble-shooter and problem solver
• Experience in the food industry is a plus.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are an added bonus.
