Specific Job Description:
RMSL is a growth company with an outstanding job opportunity for a Test Engineer. This position is full time, at-will exempt and will report to the Director of Engineering at RMSL.
Duties Include:
Work with engineers and technicians to design, coordinate, develop and execute test plans that meet customer requirements while placing safety firstDraft proposals for testing programs and operating procedures; outline specific testing conditions to be appliedDrafts detailed technical reports to present findings; based on findings, recommends modifications needed to correct production problemsDesign, construct, and implement high-tech instrumentation and remote/automated systems that collect data in a safe, effective, and reliable mannerHelp design test stands/fixturesIdentifies any problems with new products; makes adjustments or recommendations to resolve problemsUse software design tools such as SolidWorks and Labview to help support test development and measurement activitiesIndependently perform routine, non-routine, and moderately complex test seriesParticipate in the brainstorming and design process for new products, instrumentation, and processesGain knowledge and skills in the laboratory testing portion of RMSL. Assist in laboratory testing and designing laboratory test plans, as requiredInterface with RMSL customers, teammates, and partners in a professional mannerPerform other duties and assumes other responsibilities as requestedSupport, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organizationRequired Skills:
Experience in a test environment that involved energetic materials, explosives or firearmsExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to discuss product flaws in a constructive and positive mannerExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent organization skills and attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare test reports and proposalsMust be able to follow schematics, assembly drawings, safety operating procedures, and execute test plansThorough understanding of electrical, digital, and analog circuitry and electronicsGood understanding of microprocessor-based electronics and electrical circuitsDesire to work in a fast-paced productive environment with growth potentialExcellent writing and editing skills, including expert-level understanding of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.Physical requirements:Must be able to sit for extended periods of time; must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.; must have the ability to see near and far and work with a computer monitor on a daily basisRequired to bend, sit, stand and lift to perform job effectivelyWork in an office environment as well as laboratory and outdoor test range (hands-on)Must be able to work overtime when necessary to meet goalsDesired Skills:
Familiarity with PCB, Raspberry Pi and Arduino systemsMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelors DegreeGood aptitude for problem evaluation and troubleshootingUS CitizenshipAbility to obtain State of Colorado Type 1 Explosives Blaster permitAbility to obtain security clearancePreferred Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in related field from a university, college or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education.
