About the Role:
The Night Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth financial and operational functioning of a hotel during overnight hours. This position is responsible for accurately reconciling daily financial transactions, auditing guest accounts, and preparing detailed reports that support management decision-making. The Night Auditor also provides exceptional customer service to guests during the night shift, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. By maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company policies, the Night Auditor helps safeguard the hotel's financial integrity. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Shift starts at 11:00PM and goes until 7:00AM.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reconciliation.Experience with hotel property management systems or similar software.Strong numerical and analytical skills.Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher in hospitality management, accounting, or related field.Previous experience as a Night Auditor or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.Proficiency with advanced accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during overnight hours.Bilingual skills to assist a diverse guest population.
Responsibilities:
Perform nightly audit of all hotel financial transactions, including room charges, payments, and adjustments.Reconcile daily revenue and prepare detailed audit reports for management review.Verify accuracy of guest accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.Provide front desk services during overnight hours, including guest check-in and check-out.Respond to guest inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and courtesy.Ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures related to financial and operational activities.Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth handover and communication between shifts.Maintain confidentiality and security of financial and guest information.
