Rising Sun Children’s Center, a STAR 4 high-quality, DHS licensed program, is seeking a qualified, career-oriented preschool lead teacher who has a passion for working with young children (ages 3-5) in our PHLPreK/PreK Counts Classroom.
Essential Responsibilities and Standards of Performance
Use understanding of child development as the foundation of work with young children.
Effective pedagogical approaches include developmentally appropriate practices along with use curricula and PA early learning standards to create meaningful learning experiences for children.
Support mission and philosophy of the program
Develop and maintain respectful and collaborative relationships with families.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Conduct yourself as a member of the early childhood profession.
Support center staff and leadership in maintaining high-quality standards and achieving enrollment goals.
Be familiar with Keystone STARS standards, DHS regulations, PA Early Learning Standards, and Creative Curriculum.
Responsible for classroom management and supervision of children at all times.
Responsible for the overall classroom management, leading a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Be able to lift children up to 50 pounds.
Be able to walk, bend, stand, squat or sit on the floor (with children) throughout an 8-hour day.
Be able to walk up and down steps several times each day.
Be able to physically respond quickly in an emergency.
Be actively engaged and involved with children each day; including planning daily outdoor time in all ranges of temperatures or humidity levels, subject to safety guidelines.
Understand the risk of exposure to blood and bodily fluids and use universal precautions in such instances.
Be able to travel to various locations for field trips or outings. On these occasions, public transportation or other acceptable modes of transportation may be employed.

All applicants must present at the time of hire current PA child abuse, PA clearance, NSOR certificate and original FBI fingerprints along with completed health assessment and TB Test.
Educational Requirements for Pre-k counts teacher :
Have a minimum of BA/BS in Early Childhood Education.Must have a Pennsylvania Department of Educational Instructional Certification for Early Childhood Education.At least 1 years of experience teaching in an educational setting.Educational Requirements for PHL pre-k teacher :
Have a minimum of AA in Early Childhood Education ( certified would be Plus)
At least 1 years of experience teaching in an educational setting.

Passion working with children/ comfortable sitting on the floor/ Changing diapers and interacting with the children everyday.
Maintain a child- centered curriculum and learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning.
Ability to address challenging behaviors by observing to determine the possible cause of the behavior.
observations of children and documenting on Teaching Strategy Gold.
Documenting daily activities and uploading on procare.
Arrive on time to work everyday.
Must be flexible with scheduling.
Knowledge of basic computer skills; Teaching Strategy Gold (inputting daily observations on TSG)
Familiar with Creative Curriculum.
Be supportive of the working environment./Team players.
Must be willing to take professional development training.
Must meet all DHS and Keystone stars requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Early childhood experience is a must and will determine wage.
Job Type: Full-time or Part Time
Pay: $12.50 - $16.50 per hour (depend on experiences)
