The Direct Support Professional Caregiver provides compassionate and individualized care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Adult Day Program setting. Working primarily as part of a care team within adult day programs and teaching settings, this role supports personal care, behavioral needs, and daily living activities. The caregiver plays a vital role in promoting independence and emotional well-being for those they support, offering both one-on-one and group assistance in a structured, fixed-shift environment that may include occasional local travel.
Responsibilities
Assist with personal care tasks to maintain dignity and hygieneProvide behavioral support to foster positive outcomesPrepare meals and assist with feeding as neededSupport mobility and physical assistance requirementsOffer emotional support and foster effective communicationCollaborate with the care team to support individuals with disabilitiesParticipate in adult day programs and teaching activitiesDocument observations and support progress within the program
