SUMMARY: Supervise the distribution, use, care, maintenance, and repairs of the regional equipment fleet in Central & Southern Indiana.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:
Dispatch mechanics for repairs in shop or fieldSchedule and manage the preventative maintenance and repair of construction equipmentTeam with regional offices and projects to assist with equipment needsTeam with fellow Regional Equipment Supervisors for resource coordinationCoordinate equipment rental needs through Transportation and Rental Equipment SupervisorCoordinate equipment moves through Transportation and Rental Equipment SupervisorMaintain positive vendor relationshipsDaily travel to regional offices and job sitesTrain operators on the basic use, operation, care, and lubrication of equipmentRegular equipment checks to ensure crews are performing recommended daily lubrication and maintenanceSolicit and review estimates for maintenance and repairsAuthorize and approved estimates for maintenance and repairs and issue PO with repair codes to vendorsAssemble, code, and approve packing slips from all mechanics and send to Goshen office weeklyApprove and code invoices received from Goshen office dailySource and order parts for multiple makes and models of equipmentDaily approval of mechanic timecardsAssist mechanics with equipment trouble shootingOngoing cost analysis of commonly used parts and supplies to insure the best value for the companyOccasional overnight travel when requiredOccasional nights and weekends when requiredOther duties may be assigned
Qualifications
Ten (10) or more years of experience in the maintenance, repair and management of site development and heavy highway construction equipment specializing in the paving industryExperience with asphalt paving is a mustComplete understanding of machine and paver automationStrong technical paver skills preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) are essentialProblem-solving skills with attention to detail are essentialSelf-Motivated; ability to work independentlyGood written and verbal communication skills are essentialStrong quantitative and analytical skills are essentialMust have good organization skillsAdaptable and able to thrive in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
