    SUMMARY
    The Project Engineer's responsibilities include ensuring the comfort, safety, and reliability of electric buses, as well as promoting overall system performance optimization.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    As an Electric Bus General Project Engineer, the job description may include the following eight aspects:
    1. Electric Bus Layout Planning: Develop and execute the layout plan for electric buses, ensuring the efficient utilization of interior space and layout to enhance comfort and passenger capacity.
    2. Design Evaluation: Conduct evaluations of layout designs, including the positioning and arrangement of seats, control panels, storage spaces, etc., ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards while providing the best passenger experience.
    3. Safety and Reliability: Assess the safety and reliability of electric buses, ensuring that the layout design meets safety standards and effectively addresses emergency situations, such as planning and arranging safety evacuation routes.
    4.Vehicle Wiring: Responsible for the electrical and communication wiring within the electric bus, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of power transmission and communication systems. Collaborate closely with other engineers to achieve the optimal layout.
    5.Integration of Onboard Equipment: Coordinate the integration of various onboard equipment, such as the electric propulsion system, onboard entertainment system, air conditioning system, etc., ensuring their proper arrangement and smooth operation.
    6.System Optimization: Collaborate with the team to optimize the overall system performance of electric buses, including energy management, aerodynamics, etc., to improve energy efficiency and driving range.
    7.Supplier Management: Work with suppliers to ensure the supply and delivery of components and equipment required for vehicle layout. Coordinate technical communication with suppliers to ensure compliance with requirements and timelines.
    8.Technical Support: Provide technical support to other team members, addressing their questions regarding vehicle layout. Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving on-site.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    •Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or other related engineering discipline.

    PREFERRED:
    Fluency in Mandarin is preferred

    PAY RANGE: $70,000-$90,000

    Job Summary:

    A project engineer in process engineering department will be in charge of monitoring and controlling all BYD North America manufacturing processes involved in pilot transit bus/school bus/truck of each order to ensure the project goal is met.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    Join Pre Production Meeting (PPM) review readiness of staring a new production order in terms of production document, material list, special customer requirements in technical spec, etc.Monitor progress of each project on production floor, record how production plan was impacted by the major issues.Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure quick solutions are provided to fix production issues, record owner and progress of solving the issues.At the end of each production project create a project closure report, summarize root causes of all issues that can be avoided for future projects.Other tasks assigned by superior.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong supervisory and leadership skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

    Education and Experience:

    Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering with 1 year engineering job experience or high school degree with 3 years' engineering job experience.

    Physical Requirements:

    Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    Must be able to walk and work on the shop floor.
