This role is responsible for the day‑to‑day management of our community garden program and for performing hands‑on habitat restoration and natural area maintenance throughout Reston’s parklands. Working under the general supervision of the Environmental Resources Supervisor, this position plays a key role in balancing ecological integrity with community use and engagement.
The Environmental Resources Specialist also provides leadership to seasonal staff and collaborates across departments to support environmental initiatives, volunteer programs, and operational needs.
What You’ll Bring

At RA, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are actively seeking a Tennis Professional to join our team! The primary function of this position is to teach adult, junior, private, and semi-private tennis lessons on Reston Association courts as part of a large park and recreation program. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-quality recreational experiences and fostering a love for tennis in the community.
The Tennis Professional will be responsible for teaching youth (17 & under) and adult groups, and private lessons for all ages. The instructor will communicate with class participants regarding program details, court locations, and weather updates. This position requires evening and weekend availability and a strong ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Schedule requirements for this position include availability Saturday mornings from 9:00am-12:00pm to support our Adult Tennis and Junior (Youth) Tennis Programs.

The primary function of this position is to support the design review process and enhance the member experience through clear communication, efficient administration, and consistent application of Association standards. This position plays an integral role in promoting understanding of and compliance with the Association’s covenants, bylaws, procedures, design guidelines, and community standards.
The Design Review Meeting Administrator provides administrative and operational support to residential members, non-residential, apartment, and commercial applicants, as well as to the Design Review Board. This role supports the consistent administration of the design review process and advances the Association’s mission of delivering an informed, transparent, and well-coordinated member experience.
This position collaborates closely with Compliance and Outreach teams to ensure alignment in communication, education, issue resolution, and follow-through. Responsibilities include evaluating and processing Design Review applications, verifying completeness, scheduling reviews, and distributing board decisions. The role also supports Design Review Board meetings by coordinating logistics, drafting meeting minutes, and maintaining accurate records within SharePoint and other systems.
Additional responsibilities include analyzing design guidelines, drafting recommended decisions, serving as a primary point of contact for non-residential and commercial members, conducting estoppel inspections, and maintaining accurate records. This position ensures adherence to policies, procedures, and organizational standards while supporting overall departmental and Association needs.
What You’ll Bring
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and 2–4 years of relevant experience. Advanced degree or coursework in Planning, Architecture, or related field preferred. Approximately three (3) years of experience in community association management, architectural/design review, covenant administration, planning, code compliance, or a related field (recent graduates may be considered).Professional certification such as Certified Manager for Community Associations (CMCA), Association Management Specialist (AMS), Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) or similar is preferred. The Pickleball Instructor will be responsible for teaching group and private lessons, organizing social events and tournaments, and supporting the overall growth of the program. At RA, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are actively seeking Pool Operators to join our Aquatics team! This role is ideal for experienced lifeguards ready to take the next step in leadership and facility operations. Pool Operators are Lifeguard-certified staff who also hold a Fairfax County-approved Pool Operator license and serve as the day-to-day supervisors when pool management is not present. In addition to performing lifeguard duties, Pool Operators are responsible for supervising daily facility operations, delegating tasks to staff, providing training and oversight, and ensuring compliance with health and safety codes. This includes testing and adjusting water chemistry, monitoring sanitizer and pH levels, bather load, water balance, flowrate/turnover requirements, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Additional key responsibilities include maintaining a hazard-free environment, enforcing facility policies fairly and consistently, and participating in regular practice of rescue skills and safety knowledge. Operators provide effective surveillance and back-up coverage in rotation, assist with facility admissions and retail sales (at select locations), offer information to guests, perform routine cleaning, complete reports and forms, and assist with equipment. In emergency situations, operators provide care in accordance with their training and certifications.
Candidates must hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification and Fairfax County-approved Pool Operator License (provided upon hire) and are expected to consistently demonstrate the skills outlined in their certification, adhere to all standards and protocols associated with it, and maintain its validity through ongoing compliance and renewal as required.
This position offers 10-40 hours per week, from May – August, with evening and weekend shifts required to support department operations and special events. These hours depend on operational needs and are subject to change.
Hourly wage will be based on the candidate’s experience, education, and overall fit for the role.

Position Overview
At Reston Association (RA), our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are actively seeking a Recreation Driver to join our team! The primary function of this position is to safely transport campers to and from scheduled camp activities and field trips, while maintaining a positive and professional presence. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth operation of camp logistics and camper safety.
The Recreation Driver works under the supervision of the Camp Logistics Coordinator and is responsible for following scheduled routes, maintaining vehicle safety standards, and supporting camp staff during trips. This position also plays a key role in camper supervision during transit and contributes to the overall camp experience.
This position offers 40 hours per week, from June-August with occasional evening and weekend shifts required to support department operations and special events. These hours depend on operational needs and are subject to change.
What You’ll Bring
25 years of age or older.Minimum of five years of driving experience in a childcare setting, with a clean driving record.CDL required to operate activity bus; CDL preferred for other driving duties.Knowledge of state and local traffic laws/regulations and vehicle maintenance.Experience working with children in a recreational or educational setting.Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and ADP).Strong organizational and communication skills.Comprehensive knowledge of Reston and surrounding areas; proficient in map reading.Ability to manage camper behavior and maintain discipline during transit.Current CPR and First Aid Certification.Ability to meet all county/state licensing requirements including background checks and in-person training.Can provide documented proof of a negative TB skin test.Commitment to RA’s mission and working with a diverse population.Safety-focused mindset with a strong sense of responsibility.Professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with campers, staff, and families.Adaptability and teamwork to support camp operations and respond to changing needs.Attention to detail in maintaining vehicle cleanliness, documentation, and camper lists.Physically able to actively engage with children, lift up to 40 pounds, and maintain visual awareness while standing or sitting for extended periods.What You Can Expect From Reston Association

As the community's steward, RA is responsible for maintaining the quality of life in Reston, chiefly by caring for and administering the community's most precious asset—its real property.
At RA, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are actively seeking Swim Instructors to join our Aquatics team! This role is ideal for enthusiastic, knowledgeable individuals who are passionate about swimming and ready to make a meaningful impact by teaching students of all ages and abilities.
Swim Instructors are responsible for delivering group, private (1-on-1), and semi-private (2-on-1) swim lessons across RA’s pools. All lessons must follow Reston Association’s standards and policies. Instructors create a safe and positive learning environment using age-appropriate, progressive teaching techniques to engage students and promote skill development. They are expected to write comprehensive lesson plans for group lessons, maintain a neat teaching space, and ensure proper use of equipment.
Instructors must attend orientation, communicate regularly with the Swim Lesson Coordinator, and participate in meetings and training throughout the season. Administrative duties include attendance, reporting instructional hours, and maintaining communication with clients. Instructors are responsible for scheduling and coordinating private lessons directly with their clients.
Candidates must hold a current Water Safety Instructor certification (provided upon hire) and are expected to consistently demonstrate the skills outlined in their certification, adhere to all standards and protocols associated with it, and maintain its validity through ongoing compliance and renewal as required.
This position offers 2–20+ hours per week from May-September, depending on lesson demand and instructor availability. These hours depend on operational needs and are subject to change.
Hourly wage will be based on the candidate’s experience, education, and overall fit for the role.
