Are you passionate about helping individuals with disabilities learn, grow, and gain independence? We have an opening for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to interact with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, support their clinical teams, and work closely with their families. As a DSP, you will be responsible for showing compassion, providing support to residents, and creating a safe environment. Your main focus will be fostering independence and personal choice by guiding individuals to acquire the necessary skills, such as social behavior and interpersonal competence. Responsibilities
Assist individuals with disabilities with their daily living activitiesAdminister medication(s) according to guidelinesAid in implementing treatments, training programs, and developmental/behavioral plansEncourage community participationDocument all observations and daily progress notesCommunicate effectively with team membersAssist individuals in performing their cleaning responsibilitiesTransport and accompany individuals to appointments, outings, and shoppingPerform other responsibilities and duties as assigned by your supervisorRequirements and skills
Must be 18 years of age or olderMust be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, sit and walk for periods of timeSuccessful clearance of background checksBasic computer skillsCPR/First Aid training (Preferred)High school diploma or equivalent
