Job Description Job Summary We re looking for someone with 5+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator. Some estimators crunch numbers. You build the job before it ever breaks ground. Delphi is a fast-growing heavy mechanical contractor delivering public infrastructure across NYC: wastewater systems, pump stations, utility piping, and complex municipal upgrades. Our team runs lean. Our bids are sharp. And now, we re hiring a full-time Estimator to lead the charge into new agency work who can accurately analyze project costs and requirements. Responsibilities This is not a takeoff support role. This is your bid to own the estimating process, from scope reviews and pricing strategy to subcontractor/vendor coordination and margin protection. You ll be the one turning incomplete drawings and complex specs into clean, confident bids that win. Qualifications Strong Takeoff, Unit Pricing, and Labor Forecasting Skills, Highly Organized, Excellent Communicator-Written, Verbal, Numerical, Proficient with Bluebeam, Excel, and HCSS, Experience with NYC/NYS (DEP, DASNYY, NYCHA, SCA), Mechanical and Public Works Project Experience , Cost Estimation, Attention to Detail, Strong Sense of Ownership, Proven Success Diversifying Project Types or Client Mix, Leadership Experience with Direct Reports, Experience Coordinating with Trades, Subcontractors, Long Lead Vendors, and Field Leadership, Familiarity with MWBE, Compliance, and Public Contract Packaging, JOC Estimating Experience, Field or Project Management Experience and Microsoft Excel
