Position OverviewThe Physician Assistant will work collaboratively with Urologists to provide comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of urologic conditions. This role offers strong physician support and exposure to both clinical and procedural aspects of urology.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform initial and follow-up evaluations for urology patients
Obtain detailed histories, conduct physical exams, and complete assessments
Order and interpret diagnostic testing (labs, urinalysis, imaging)
Assist with minor office-based procedures such as:
Catheter placements
Cystoscopies
Bladder scans
First-assist in surgical procedures as permitted by PA scope of practice
Provide patient education on diagnoses, treatment plans, and pre-/post-operative care
Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
Document all encounters accurately and timely in the EMR
Participate in inpatient rounding or consults if applicable
Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations
Support quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives
RequirementsPost-training urology or surgical experience required
Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience in urology or a surgical specialty preferred
New graduates with strong urology or surgical rotations will be considered
DEA registration and prescriptive authority
BLS and ACLS certifications required
