Description: If you like figuring out how things work - and why they don't - this role might be a great fit. We're a family-owned industrial service and sales company with a small, hands-on team. We work on real equipment for real customers in power plants, water and wastewater facilities, and industrial plants. No two days look the same. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys mechanical work, basic electrical troubleshooting, and solving problems both in the shop and out in the field. What You'll Actually Do Assemble, repair, and troubleshoot electric actuated valves Assemble and calibrate instrumentation packages and electric actuators Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on customer equipment - in our shop and on-site Support field service work, including installations, startups, and troubleshooting Assist with steam system surveys and plant walk-downs Take field measurements for mounting hardware and retrofits Participate in customer demos and occasional training sessions Help keep the shop and warehouse organized (shipping, receiving, inventory, tools) What Makes This Role Different You'll work on live customer problems, not just bench work You'll see a wide range of systems - steam, power, water, wastewater, industrial You'll be trusted to ask questions, think critically, and figure things out You won't be stuck doing the same repetitive task every day You'll work closely with a small team that values initiative and curiosity Travel Expectations Travel is based on customer needs Mix of shop work, day trips, and overnights On average: 1-2 overnight trips per month (sometimes more) 1-2 day trips per month (sometimes more) This Role Is a Good Fit If You Have solid mechanical fundamentals and basic electrical troubleshooting skills Can read schematics, wiring diagrams, and dimensional drawings Like working with your hands and getting dirty when needed Ask good questions and enjoy learning how systems really work Can work independently without constant direction Are comfortable interacting with customers in the field This Role Is Not a Good Fit If You Need constant step-by-step direction Prefer repetitive, highly structured work Don't want field work or occasional travel Avoid customer interaction Pay & Benefits Starting around $20/hour (depending on experience) Overtime potential Company vehicle provided for field work PTO, health insurance, and standard benefits Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent (Technical school or relevant industry experience is a plus) Mechanical aptitude with intermediate electrical circuit troubleshooting Valid driver's license Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and required safety training PI
