With a pipeline of projects to build, we are looking for a dynamic Project Engineer to join the team in the construction of a mixed-use building located in West Hollywood. We seek a professional, self-motivated and team-oriented individual to assist us with our expanding workload.

JOB DUTIES
Project Coordination:
· Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in daily project operation
· Coordinate between field teams, subcontractors, suppliers and design professionals
· Track RFI’s (Request for Information) and ensure timely responses
· Support the preparation, distribution and management of submittals and shop drawings
Documentation & Reporting:
· Maintain/update project documentation including drawings, specs, logs and correspondence
· Record meeting minutes for owner, subcontractor and coordination meetings
· Assist in preparing and maintaining project schedules and look-ahead plans
· Monitor daily reports and jobsite logs; verify progress and note any delays and issues
Cost & Budget Management:
· Assist in the review of subcontractor invoices, change orders and pay applications
· Help track committed costs against project budgets
· Support procurement and purchasing activities
· Maintain logs for potential change orders (PCO’s), RFI’s and contract revisions
Quality Control & Compliance:
· Support inspections and testing per project specifications and regulatory requirements
· Ensure that materials and installations comply with contract documents
· Assist in developing punch lists and coordinating project close-out
· Help manager safety compliance documentation and reporting
Communication & Collaboration:
· Act as liaison between project team members, architects, engineers and clients
· Attend project meetings and prepare follow-up communications
· Assist with client updates and status reports
Technology & Tools:
· Use program management software (e.g. Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, etc)
· Assist with digital plan markups, document uploads and coordination models
· Perform quantity takeoffs or support estimating teams as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will possess:
· At least 3 years of experience in commercial construction industry
· Undergraduate degree in Construction Management – Civil Engineering…a plus
· Experience managing Procore
· Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and MS Project
· Must possess valid/active driver’s license
· Bonus: experience building in the cities of Los Angeles and West Hollywood

Job Description
The Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent in coordinating on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Projects primarily consist of mixed-use multifamily developments located in the West Hollywood area. This role provides day-to-day oversight of field operations, subcontractors, and quality control, while fostering strong communication between the project team, subcontractors and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist the Superintendent in planning, scheduling, and supervising daily field operations.
· Monitor job site safety and enforce company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project-specific requirements.
· Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to ensure smooth workflow.
· Oversee quality control, including inspections, punch lists, and adherence to project specifications.
· Track progress and report to the Superintendent and Project Manager on schedules, manpower, and materials.
· Support project documentation, including daily logs, reports, and updates to schedules.
· Help resolve on-site issues or conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
· Ensure compliance with building codes, permits, and contractual requirements.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site at all times.
· Build strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and clients.
Qualifications:
· 2–5 years of construction field experience, with exposure to residential projects.
· Knowledge of construction methods, materials, scheduling, and safety standards.
· Proficiency in project management and scheduling software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
· Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
· Must possess valid/active driver’s license
· Bonus: experience building in the cities of Los Angeles and West Hollywood
Working Conditions:
· Full-time, project-based position with work primarily on active construction sites.
· Requires regular standing, walking, and lifting on site.
· May involve extended hours and weekend work depending on project needs.
