    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Registered Nurse's primary duties include providing treatment, rehabilitation, and medical support services to all persons served within the program as a member of the residential treatment program. The RN has responsibility for oversight of medication pursuant to psychiatrist's orders, health needs of persons, assessing somatic complaints of persons, maintaining medical records, and implementing orders of primary care physicians. The RN maintains health records and cares for persons with minor injuries or illnesses and monitors medical and pharmacological treatments. The RN provides supportive counseling, support services, and other clinical and rehabilitative services as credentialed. The RN assists with dispensing prescribed medication, works as an integral member of the treatment team and consistently exercises discretion and independent judgment in the performance of the duties of the position. The RN is expected to be available for consultation and/or to deliver emergency medical services 24 hours a day. In the event of natural disaster, the RN is expected to be available for duty to ensure continuation of medical services.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    Must be a Delaware Registered Nurse preferably with experience in a substance use treatment program.

    GENERAL REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
    Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license. Must present and maintain original documentation that all credentials are current and valid. Must submit to criminal background and driving record check from appropriate regulatory and law enforcement authorities. Where required by the program, must submit to, and may be required to furnish a copy of medical clearance and Tuberculosis (TB) test results. Medical exam may be required.

    This position is for a full time Registered Nurse on the Kent County, Delaware ACT Team. This position is primarily Monday-Friday with an on-call component. The RNs work in both the office and in the community providing services to the adults served by the program. This position requires someone who can work well as a team member, think independently, has strong organizational skills, and work in a fast paced environment. RN will be responsible for visiting clients to assist with working towards treatment plan goals; for example, healthy eating, weight loss, medication education, exercise, applying for medication assistance/benefits, coordinating with other medical providers, accompanying to medical appointments. This RN works in conjunction with the psychiatrist, ensures that medication orders are sent to the pharmacy and given to clients as indicated. The RN is responsible for giving IM injections and taking vitals on a monthly basis.
    Required Experience

    Minimum 1 year of related experience.
    Required Education

    REQUIRED EDUCATION

    Associate's degree in Nursing required
    Required Qualifications

    Must have a valid RN license in the State of Delaware.

    Bi-lingual preferred

    Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation

    Program Summary

    The Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team is a service provided by an interdisciplinary team that ensures a recovery oriented system of care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and is prepared to carry out a full range of treatment functions wherever and whenever needed. The program employs master's and bachelor's level counselors, registered nurse, substance abuse specialist, vocational specialist, psychiatrist/APN, peer support specialist, and a program assistant to provide these services in the community.

    • Assists residents in learning about their medications; assures that medications are taken as physician ordered and recorded in electronic MAR

    • Assesses residents' health and emotional needs
