Part-Time Thrift Store Manager at REACH for Bargains

Tuesday–Saturday, VARIES 9:00 AM–6:30 PM (some evenings as needed)
Position Summary:
The Thrift Store Manager oversees all aspects of REACH for Bargains’ daily operations to maximize sales revenue and support REACH of Macon County’s mission. This position supervises staff and volunteers, manages inventory, and ensures the store remains a welcoming, organized, and mission-centered environment.
Duties (include but are not limited to):
· Ensure accurate sales operations by overseeing the Square POS system, supervising opening/closing procedures, and verifying completion of daily sales reports—performing tasks directly when coverage requires.
· Lead and manage the team by scheduling, training, mentoring, and evaluating staff and volunteers to uphold strong customer service and smooth store operations; foster a positive, inclusive work culture by organizing or supporting activities that recognize staff and volunteer contributions—such as celebrating birthdays, milestones, and other team achievements.
· Direct merchandising and boutique operations by setting standards for pricing, staging, seasonal displays, and trend-based merchandising; assist with execution as needed.
· Guide donation pricing and intake by establishing pricing strategies and quality standards and supporting staff in pricing donations for a broad customer base.
· Maintain knowledge of clothing/shoe brands and current styles to inform pricing, displays, and training of staff.
· Oversee donation acceptance and processing, ensuring receipts and quality control are completed properly, and assist with processing during high-volume periods.
· Coordinate staging and movement of large items by directing staff or assisting customers; provide hands-on help when necessary. Strong background in staging vignettes.
· Manage social media marketing (Facebook, Instagram; TikTok a plus) by creating or approving content, delegating routine posts, and ensuring consistent promotion of merchandise and sales events.
· Conduct or delegate opening and closing walk-throughs to ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety standards.
· Maintain store appearance by directing or assisting with cleaning, trash removal, and routine maintenance as needed.
· Model outstanding customer service by greeting and assisting shoppers and reinforcing service standards with the team.
· Promote and support the mission of REACH in all customer, donor, and community interactions.
Skills & Qualifications:
Friendly, outgoing, and customer-focused with strong organizational skills.Ability to work independently and lead a team.Retail or thrift store experience strongly preferred; supervisory experience required.Proficiency with Square POS and basic computer applications.Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.Supportive and understanding of the philosophy and mission of REACH of Macon County.Compensation & Benefits:

PT Shelter Staff Position
Reports To: Executive Director and Shelter Supervisor
Rate of Pay: $18.00 Per Hour
Work Schedule: Primary work hours are overnight and weekends. Times and days may vary.
Training: 20-hr Crisis Counseling/Dynamics of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Human Trafficking. Training provided by REACH of Macon County.
Work Description:
· Provide direct client services including intakes, supportive counseling, accessing needs, providing information and referrals, goal setting, and some transportation as needed
· Handle day-to-day operations of shelter, oversee MANNA and USDA food program, and completing record-keeping and paperwork.
· Maintain confidential paperwork, client files and perform data entry.
· Coordinate with other staff and community agencies, and perform additional duties as assigned.
· Cover crisis line as needed.
· Coordinate shelter client activities and meetings.
· Support an environment that encourages client growth, health, and safety.
· As needed, assist Court Advocate in providing information, accompaniment, Victim Compensation assistance and other court advocacy duties.
