Job Title: EH S Specialist | Construction Safety Contract Duration: Contract 3-6 months Compensation: Up to $60.00 hr. Commensurate with experience. Location: Philadelphia, PA Position Summary Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detailed oriented EH S specialist to help drive safety efforts as the final construction phase of 500,000 square-foot bio-tech facility wraps up and the Certification of Occupancy now takes focus. This individual will bridge the gap between active construction safety and facility readiness. You will be responsible for rigorous hazard mitigation, ensuring all final commission and punch list activities are performed safely while maintaining strict enforcement of company standards. Key Responsibilities Pre-Work Planning Approval Lead the review and approval process for contractor safety plans. Ensure all high-risk activities are mapped out with robust Safe Plans of Action (SPAs) before commencement. Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Conduct comprehensive JHAs for final-phase tasks, including high-ceiling work, equipment testing, MEP commissioning, and punch-list finishing tasks. Field Safety Oversight Maintain a high-visibility presence on the floor. Provide real-time safety coaching, monitor for permit compliance, and ensure all site workers adhere to safety protocols during the critical final weeks. Enforcement Accountability Enforce strict adherence to safety policies. Identify safety gaps, issue corrective actions, and work closely with site management to ensure that safety-first is the priority as the deadline for occupancy approaches. Transition Support Assist in the documentation required for final safety inspections to satisfy regulatory requirements for the Certificate of Occupancy. Qualifications 3-5+ years of experience in construction EH S, specifically in pharma/medtech , industrial or commercial environments. Demonstrated expertise in conducting JHAs and developing detailed SPAs for complex tasks. Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction-related safety standards. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse trades, contractors, and facility project managers. Proven track record of safety enforcement in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
