Position Overview
The Production Manager will oversee all aspects of millwork shop operations—from manufacturing and scheduling to crew leadership and client coordination. This position requires a highly skilled professional with 15+ years of experience in the woodworking and millwork industry, with strong organizational and leadership abilities.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily production operations, ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
Lead and manage a team of fabricators, finishers, and installers; conduct regular safety meetings and enforce safety protocols.
Coordinate and manage project timelines, workloads, and material procurement.
Perform and review bid takeoffs, cost estimates, and material lists.
Organize and maintain the mill shop layout, ensuring smooth workflow and equipment utilization.
Supervise installations as needed to maintain quality and schedule compliance.
Collaborate with architects, designers, contractors, and clients to resolve design or production issues.
Operate and maintain a wide range of woodworking machinery and tools.
Ensure adherence to company quality standards and project specifications.
Support and mentor team members to improve craftsmanship, productivity, and morale.
Qualifications
15+ years of experience in millwork, cabinetry, or woodworking production (supervisory experience required).
Strong background in manufacturing processes, material management, and production scheduling.
Proficient in reading blueprints, architectural drawings, and technical specifications.
Experience with bid takeoffs, project estimating, and order management.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Proficient in basic computer skills; experience with CAD or shop management software a plus.
