POSITION SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant (MA) provides clinical and administrative support to physicians, nurses, and other
healthcare professionals in an orthopedic clinic setting. The MA is responsible for assisting with patient
care, maintaining accurate medical records, coordinating patient flow, and supporting the overall
operation of the clinic.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Room patients and obtain vital signs.
• Document patient histories, medications, allergies, and chief complaints.
• Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Prepare examination rooms and maintain clinical supplies.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up visits.
• Perform EMR documentation and update patient records accurately.
• Provide patient education and discharge instructions as directed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
• Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and clinic staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by clinic leadership.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant certification.
• Minimum one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience.
• Experience working in a physician office or orthopedic clinic preferred.
• Basic computer and EMR proficiency preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings and facility requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to assist patients with mobility when necessary.
