Position Summary
Quality “Plus” Services (QPS) is seeking experienced Journeyman Electricians to support industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects throughout Petersburg, VA and the surrounding region. This role requires a strong working knowledge of electrical systems, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently while supporting project schedules and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in industrial and commercial environmentsRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawingsRun, bend, and install conduit (EMT, rigid, PVC)Pull, terminate, and test electrical wiring and componentsInstall panels, breakers, transformers, motor controls, and lighting systemsPerform electrical testing using meters and diagnostic equipmentEnsure all work complies with NEC, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirementsCoordinate with foremen, supervisors, and other trades on siteMaintain clean and safe work areasAssist apprentices and less experienced electricians as neededQualifications
Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent documented experienceCompletion of an accredited apprenticeship program preferred4+ years of hands-on electrical experience in industrial or commercial settingsStrong knowledge of NEC and electrical safety standardsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionReliable attendance and strong work ethicAbility to pass pre-employment screening, including drug testingPhysical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spacesAbility to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditionsWork Environment & Schedule
