    Nurse Practitioner (NP) Job Needs: It is the mission and purpose of Quality Correctional Care to assist corrections-involved individuals in their healthcare journey from initial interaction with law enforcement through successful transition to the community.

    Nurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements: Nurse Practitioner (NP), currently licensed to practice medicine in the state of hire, references and a cleared background check.

    Nurse Practitioner (NP) Pay: Based on employee licensure and previous experiences.

    Nurse Practitioner (NP) Preference: Correctional experience is preferred but not required.

    Nurse Practitioner (NP) Location: MUST be willing to travel to various correctional facilities in the North Central part of the state. Counties that may be included but not limited to: (Miami, Carroll, Clinton, Cass, Wabash, Fulton, Kosciusko)

    Nurse Practitioner (NP) Hours: Full-Time Monday through Friday 40 hours per week This position does require some flexibility and the need to work weekends every 4-6 weeks.

    Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Goal:
    It is the mission and purpose of Quality Correctional Care to assist corrections-involved individuals in their healthcare journey from initial interaction with law enforcement through successful transition back to the community by providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management services. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner supports this mission by delivering evidence-based mental health care, promoting stabilization, and facilitating continuity of care within the correctional setting and upon community reentry.

    Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Duties/Responsibilities:

    Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and medication reviews for patients referred by security, healthcare staff, or other community sources.Diagnose psychiatric disorders and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans, including prescribing and managing psychotropic medications in accordance with state regulations and facility protocols.Provide ongoing medication management, monitor treatment response, assess for side effects and medication adherence, and adjust treatment regimens as clinically indicated.Respond to sick call requests, urgent referrals, and mental health crises, including suicide risk assessments and appropriate intervention and stabilization measures.Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment team members to coordinate care, participate in multidisciplinary meetings, and ensure continuity of services throughout incarceration and transition planning.Order, review, and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests related to psychiatric treatment and medication management.Provide patient and staff education regarding mental health conditions, medications, treatment expectations, and crisis prevention strategies.Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in the patient health record in compliance with facility policies, regulatory standards, and company procedures.Ensure adherence to correctional healthcare standards, state and federal regulations, and Quality Correctional Care policies and procedures.
    Requirements:Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institutionBoard certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the state of practiceCurrent DEA registration with prescriptive authorityMinimum of 1–2 years of psychiatric clinical experience preferredStrong clinical assessment and diagnostic skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
