    Summary

    The Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer writes and installs programs for the Zeiss CMM that accurately measure production parts to ascertain their conformance with customer drawings. The CMM Programmer maintains and enforces quality and safety standards, prepares and safe keeps CMM records, ensures necessary CMM availability by appropriately scheduling and maintaining all CMM equipment. and maintains necessary supplies for the CMM department.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Writes CMM programs by entering zero and reference points, incorporating appropriate details from studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).Verifies CMM settings by measuring positions of first-run parts and sample work pieces, while adhering to international standards.Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and arranging for and supervising supplier repairs as needed.Communicates in writing to the Quality Supervisor and appropriate machine operators any irregularities, and programming changes so all shifts are aware of part performances.Supports the Quality Supervisor and schedules CMM activities so that on time delivery goals are achieved.Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new requests, making suggestions, and exploring opportunities to add value to company operations.Performs tasks to meet the requirements of the QQE Quality Management System such as record and document control.Approves blueprints for the shop floor generated based on the customer drawing, performing a thorough making sure is correct.

    Qualifications:

    Knowledge: A High School Diploma or GED is required. Working knowledge of computers to be able to work with on-line manuals, maintain records, etc. Working knowledge of Controls and Instrumentation. At least 1 year of experience in CMM operation.

    Abilities: Ability to work as part of a team to ensure achievement of company goals. Needs to have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing, to use and read calipers, micrometers, comparators, in addition to be able to read blueprints. Must have ability to exercise sound judgment.

    Skills: Must have good conceptual capabilities and good attention to detail.

    Physical Demands:

    Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

    Summary

    The Quality technician inspects and test product and materials per customer specifications and meets regulatory requirements maintaining quality and safety standards. She/He prepares and keeps records of final inspections, follows traceability, and maintains supporting documentation as required by QQE and their customers.


    Primary Responsibilities

    Clean parts as required Inspect and test product for both cosmetic flaws, dimensional, and/or other product characteristics per prescribed methods and requirementsIdentify and follow critical control points and preventive measuresVerify and record required data such as critical features and certifications as neededHandle product in such a way to reduce the introduction of additional contamination and damageVerifies CMM print outs and identify any discrepancies. Communicate with Office and shop personnel any problems or concerns about product quality or customer requirementsWrite non-conformance reports as requiredReview routers for completeness and accuracy as routers come into inspection.Laser engraves parts as needed per procedurePrint and scan barcode labels, shipping labels and shipping papers as requiredPrint shipping labels and shipping papers as requiredPackage product per both QQE and customer requirementsPerform tasks to meet the requirements of the QQE Quality Management System such as record and document controlPrint and scan barcode labels as neededMonitor operations for quality achievement and compliance with established processes and procedures by executing internal audits as assignedParticipate and support the implementation of new programs and changes by performing and supporting continuous improvement initiativesSupport and be part of corrective and preventive action plansMay interact with internal and external customers and meet customer requirementsOther duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    Knowledge: Must be a high school graduate and have experience in process improvement techniques. Preferably with an associate's degree in an industrial or manufacturing technology field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A degree with a quality background is preferred. 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing and/or quality environment.

    Abilities: Good conceptual capabilities and must be meticulous in their work. Must have attention to detail and ability to exercise sound judgment; also, must be able to read drawings and identify critical features. Must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing, work as part of a team to ensure achievement of company goals, consistently follow set procedures on inspection techniques and practices as QQE and customers require, and legible penmanship is a must since many inspections require documentation that they will be required to fill in.

    Skills: Working knowledge of controls and instrumentation, as well as computers to be able to work and maintain records, etc. Must be skilled in quality processes and knowledgeable about measurement and test equipment. Proficient in the use and operation of measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers and profilometer.


    Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 50 Lbs. and eyesight of 20/20 with or without corrective lenses
