Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a travel assignment in Eureka, California.
This role supports a hospital-based nuclear medicine department performing a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including cardiac imaging, PET scans, and radionuclide studies.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This assignment is ideal for Nuclear Medicine Techs experienced in diagnostic and cardiac nuclear imaging who are comfortable working independently and managing a diverse caseload in an acute care environment.
ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
• 13-week contract
• Day shift 5x8s (07:00–15:30)
• Floating required to outpatient department a block away
• Call required; manager to discuss details
• No block scheduling
COMPENSATION
Because travel rates change frequently based on market demand and facility needs, our recruiters provide the most current and competitive pay packages during your initial conversation. Each compensation package is customized and may include taxable hourly wages along with tax-free stipends when applicable.
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform nuclear medicine procedures including bone scans, PET scans, and cardiac studies
• Conduct myocardial perfusion exercise and rest studies
• Perform HIDA scans, gastric emptying, thyroid uptake, and ventilation/perfusion studies
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals and maintain radiation safety protocols
• Start and maintain IV access for procedures
• Handle, store, and dispose of radioactive materials safely
• Operate GE and Siemens imaging equipment
• Collaborate with radiology and interdisciplinary teams
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Acute care hospital setting
• Nuclear medicine department with advanced imaging capabilities
• Interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Epic charting preferred
Requirements
• Minimum 2 years Nuclear Medicine Tech experience REQUIRED
• ARRT(N) or NMTCB REQUIRED
• CNMT preferred
• Experience with PET, cardiac, and diagnostic nuclear procedures REQUIRED
• Experience handling radioactive materials REQUIRED
• IV start and maintenance experience REQUIRED
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Must be willing to float to outpatient department
• Must meet 50-mile radius rule
• Locals accepted at lower rate
• RTO must be submitted with application
• Must be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays
Important Notes:
• Travel experience not required
• 2 supervisory references required covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Modules non-billable, average 16 hours
• Housing may be limited in area
