CRNAs provide full-spectrum anesthesia care and operate with a high degree of autonomy. [
Pre-Anesthesia Assessment: Evaluate patients' medical history, physical condition, and lab results to formulate a safe, personalized anesthetic plan.
Anesthesia Administration: Induce and maintain general anesthesia, regional anesthesia (such as epidurals and spinal blocks), local anesthesia, and sedation.
Intraoperative Monitoring: Continuously track vital signs, airway status, and fluid balance during surgery, adjusting anesthetic depth as needed.
Airway Management: Perform advanced airway interventions, including endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, and extubating.
Post-Anesthesia Care: Monitor patient recovery, manage acute post-operative pain, and safely transition patients to recovery units.
Emergency Response: Respond to cardiopulmonary arrests and trauma situations by stabilizing airways and administering life-saving medications.
