  Location: Englewood, Chatham, and Auburn Gresham Communities – Chicago, IL
  
  Public Equity is seeking dedicated and compassionate Community Violence Intervention (CVI) Case Managers to support individuals and families impacted by community violence throughout the Englewood, Chatham, and Auburn Gresham communities. This position plays a critical role in providing trauma-informed support, crisis intervention, resource navigation, advocacy, and case management services to participants at elevated risk of violence involvement.
  
  The ideal candidate is passionate about community engagement, violence prevention, restorative practices, and helping individuals achieve long-term stability and success. Case Managers will work closely with outreach teams, community partners, hospitals, schools, and social service agencies to ensure participants receive comprehensive support services tailored to their individual needs.
  
  Key Responsibilities Include:
  
  Conducting participant assessments and individualized service planningMaintaining consistent contact and follow-up with participants and familiesConnecting participants to resources, including housing, employment, education, mental health, substance use treatment, and healthcare servicesProviding crisis response, conflict mediation support, and trauma-informed careCompleting accurate and timely documentation, case notes, and data entryCollaborating with outreach workers, supervisors, and community stakeholdersSupporting participant goal achievement and long-term stabilizationNo house visitsQualifications:
  
  Experience in case management, social services, violence prevention, behavioral health, or community outreach preferredStrong communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skillsAbility to work within high-risk and fast-paced community environmentsKnowledge of Chicago communities and community resources preferredBachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, human services, or related field preferred; equivalent lived or professional experience consideredPublic Equity is committed to building safer communities through equity, advocacy, and meaningful engagement.   Community Violence Intervention (CVI) Nonprofit Organization – Chicago, IL
  
  Public Equity is excited to partner with the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) through the Illuminate Paid Internship Program to provide meaningful, project-based internship opportunities for students interested in community impact, violence prevention, nonprofit leadership, and organizational development.
  
  This paid internship opportunity allows students to gain hands-on experience within a fast-paced Community Violence Intervention (CVI) nonprofit organization serving communities throughout Chicago. Interns will support priority projects, research initiatives, program development, administrative operations, community engagement efforts, and organizational planning while working alongside experienced nonprofit professionals.
  
  Interns will contribute to real-world projects designed to support healing, equity, violence prevention, and community wellness initiatives across Chicago neighborhoods.
  
  Internship Details:
  
  Paid internship through the UIC Illuminate Program$4,000 stipend provided directly by UIC15–20 hours per weekOne semester durationOpportunities available in-person, hybrid, or virtual, based on organizational needs and student availabilityPotential Internship Areas Include:
