About being our Landscape Architect Intern
Psomas' team of landscape architects and urban designers specialize in crafting and implementing visions for communities across the West and Midwest. Our past and current projects include main streets, festival streets, gateways, wayfinding, community plazas/open spaces, parks, and trails. Our firm offers a supportive and dynamic environment where interns will work alongside many professionals, fostering teamwork and mentorship opportunities throughout their internship.
This is an opportunity for a self-motivated, collaborative candidate with strong visual communication skills that is available to work out of our downtown Seattle office approximately 24 -32 hours a week for up to 12 weeks (about 3 months). If candidates attend school locally, there is flexibility to potentially start this Spring.
This role will involve graphic production, AutoCAD drafting for design development, public outreach, research, site investigation, and field work on various projects across all three of our PNW offices (Seattle, Tacoma, and Wenatchee). Interns will have the opportunity to creatively engage in projects from inception, working closely with various disciplines in landscape architecture, urban design, environmental, cultural resources, and engineering to gain real-world experience from conceptual design, design development, and digital graphic renderings to design detailing, construction documentation, and construction/site observation visits.

Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a variety of project types and design challengesLead a dedicated special project focused on advancing research in various fields (i.e. urban design, environmental restoration and/or urban forestry)Create high-quality visual materials, including illustrative renderings, graphics, and diagrams that clearly convey project vision and design concepts to clients and the publicSupport the development of construction documents, assisting with drafting plans, details, and other technical drawingsMinimum Qualifications to be our Landscape Architect Intern
Must be a college/university student pursuing an education from an accredited Landscape Architecture programPortfolio submission required (student or professional work via PDF or link) demonstrating design thinking, graphics, and technical skills Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skillsProficiency with current versions of AutoCAD™ Civil 3D, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering (i.e. Lumion, Twinmotion, V-Ray, Enscape, Rhino+Grassphopper); as well as Microsoft Word and ExcelHighlighted Benefits for our Landscape Architect Intern
