The Material Handler is responsible for the preparation and delivery of raw materials for production and maintains material corridors/staging areas. While performing the duties of the position, Material Handlers are responsible for maintaining a high degree of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Operating equipment to move product via manual pallet jack and/or forklift.Accurate scanning of all material and component transactions for press startup, replenishment, and press turnovers/end of run.Follow all work instructions and quality control documentation.Clear production line of inventory no longer in use (Line Clearance).Create/affix Master label to finished product.Complete End-of-Shift (EOS) Status form.Move and accurately scan product to storage locations.Perform daily forklift inspections.Proper set-up and use of auxiliary material handling equipment (dryers, dispensing hoppers, etc.).Ensure proper material transfer/changeover and clean out of material dryers, loader/mixer hoppers.Using computer to enter data and print labels.Ensure all labels are correct according to the work order information.Responsible for the housekeeping of the injection molding machine area and surrounding areas.Actively participates in Continuous Improvement teams and activities & housekeeping.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:

Summary/Objective:
The Press Operator is responsible for operating the machines and equipment used in the manufacturing of plastic injection molded products in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP), including visual inspection, trimming, recordkeeping, packaging, and labeling. While performing the duties of this position, the Press Operator is responsible for maintaining a high degree of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Complete the press sign-in sheet at the start of every shift or after starting a new job.Perform the essential functions of the job within safety, quality, productivity, and performance standards as defined by company policy, procedures, and applicable work instructions.Perform an in-process visual inspection of all parts in accordance with the requirements stated in the POM or as otherwise stated per company quality standards.Calibrate and use the scale to weigh parts as required by POM.Operate and use all tools safely including cutters, knives, etc.Document rejected products in IQMS and attribute/SPC charts on an hourly basis. Identify, properly contain, and label scrap/purging.Properly and safely use a grinder to re-grind parts according to work instructions. Responsible for coordinating and providing direction regarding technical functions of the plant and assisting department managers with plant productivity, scrap objectives, and continuous improvement activities.

Manages all process engineering functions and activities of technical staff to maintain timely and complete processing of projects and daily problem-solving activities.Maintains awareness of operations and aiding and directing as required to improve production effectiveness and overall performance.Establishes standard practices for process engineering activities, including problem-solving and documentation.Provide assistance to all departments with plant technical communication and technical support, as well as providing technicians with clear communication and training to improve process techniques.Assists the department in compliance with the IATF 16949 quality system.Participate in the launch of new products and programs.Mistake-proof manufacturing processes.Establish and implement key process control parameters for monitoring and measuring injection molding processes (Including SPC).Support process maintenance as assigned.Work with Process Technicians to drive and facilitate process improvements.Reduce scrap during color changes and material changes.Reduce scrap due to molding defects (Short Shots, Splay, Color Streaks, etc)Increase machine uptime.Additional responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
