    Job Overview:

    We are seeking a Full-Time motivated and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our dental office team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring their experience is smooth and positive. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow in an administrative role, with previous experience being a bonus but not required.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    Greet and check in patients with a friendly and professional demeanor.Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the office calendar.Verify and update patient information, including insurance details.Assist with billing, payments, and processing insurance claims.Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.Ensure the reception area is clean and organized.Provide general administrative support to the dental team as needed.

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or equivalent.Strong organizational and multitasking skills.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Basic computer skills (experience with dental software is a plus).Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.Dental Office experience is a plus but not a requirement.

    Preferred (but not required):

    Previous experience in a dental or medical office setting.Familiarity with insurance billing and claims.

    Core Responsibilities

    Insurance Management:Verify patient insurance eligibility, co-pays, deductibles, and plan limitations before appointments.Submit insurance claims accurately and follow up on outstanding, denied, or underpaid claims.Prepare and submit pre-authorizations for treatment.Submit appeals and corrected claims with necessary supporting documentation.Billing and Collections:Post insurance payments, patient payments, and adjustments to patient accounts.Prepare and send patient statements for outstanding balances.Manage the accounts receivable (AR) aging report to ensure timely collection.Make collection calls and arrange payment schedules with patients.Patient Communication:Explain insurance coverage, limitations, and treatment estimates to patients.Resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies.
