Job Description: Princeton Orthopaedic Associates is looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to join our outstanding team! We are looking for a candidate who will be responsible ensuring accurate and timely billing processes. This position is responsible for managing invoices, verifying billing information, and resolving discrepancies to maintain financial integrity. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate electronic medical records (EMR) and electronic health records (EHR) systems effectively. The specialist will collaborate with various departments to gather necessary data and ensure that all transactions are recorded correctly. Ultimately, this role supports the financial health of the organization and enhances customer satisfaction through accurate billing practices. Responsibilities Review and verify patient information and insurance coverage for accuracy Code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and DRG classifications Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies in a timely manner Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with regulations Utilize EMR and EHR systems for efficient documentation and billing processes Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices Experience/ Qualifications: Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related field is essential Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9 and ICD-10) is required Knowledge of CPT coding and DRG classifications is preferred Previous experience in a medical office setting is advantageous Critical Skills: Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for billing purposes is necessary Organizational skills to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with billing procedures Strong understanding of medical terminology and medical records management is essential If you are passionate about healthcare billing processes and possess the required skills, we encourage you to apply for this vital role within our organization Compensation Benefits: OrthoNJ, LLC is required by New Jersey law to disclose the compensation range for this position. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. This role involves scheduling, data entry, and providing administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations.
